Works well for rabbit litter, I actually use this paper cat litter for a rabbit litter it is much cheaper than buying actual rabbit paper and litter and the rabbits love to dig in it ...it's very absorbent and I put it in their litter box with some hay over it and will continue using it.

No dust.Sometimes people that are allergic to cats, find that it is not the cats,but the kitty litter they use.The fine dust from other litters hangs in the air for hours.Have 3 friends that switched to yesterdays news and all their symptoms cleared with in a month.That is really good news.

This is by far the best cat litter I ever used. I never new it was available until I unfortunately had to have my cats front claws removed and my vet suggested it. I haven't changed since even though I only needed to use it for healing purposes. At first I thought it was is expensive but the length of time it last far outweighs the other options out there. I've been using this product for well over 5 years and have no intentions of ever changing.

I use this for a diabetic cat who has developed urination problems.
The product absorbs the urine and controls the odor.  The pellets turn very soft for an easy clean up and does not stick to her feet like the clumping litter.

a great alternative to regular cat litter

The only time we've used "Yesterday's News" was after surgery. Regular litter may stick to healing areas that are moist. "Yesterday's News" won't. But mix it with shredded paper! Here's the story and the tip. 
When we got the kittens home from the vet we put them in a small bedroom. They went over to the litter box but would not use it. When we came in a few minutes later one or both of the kittens had urinated on their bedding! They didn't recognize that box as being cat litter.
So my wife had me shred up some papers in my office and we mixed it with the "Yesterday's News." That worked! They knew what that was! 
When we rescued the kittens at about 4 weeks (the mother had disappeared and they were infested with fleas collapsed out in the open) they were so tiny and weak they couldn't deal with regular litter! So my wife made a litter box of shredded paper. That worked well. We transitioned them to regular litter a month or so later. But the point is that they recognized the shredded paper as cat litter! That came in handy!
You should either get your cat used to the "Yesterday's News" or shredded paper before surgery. You don't want surprises afterwards.
Also, with "Yesterday's News," the pee disintegrates the "litter" and the poop hides in it.  
But it's still the safest cat litter during the healing process.

Get Them Used To It Beforehand

My cat was recently diagnosed with 'pillow foot, where the pads of his feet became infected. The vet sent me home with a 5 lb bag of Yesterdays News which I did not like it at first. But between the meds and this litter, he has significantly improved. It is hard to save the good pellets when removing the urinated ones.  So the expense is starting to add up. I think, I will have my son-in-law make me a sifter like I saw on UTube. I want to stay with this litter because it is healthier / softer than clay litter, it doesn't stick to his paws, the little kick out he does is right by the box but most of all, I love my cat.

Using this for a new puppy who came litter box trained.  The breeder specifically recommened this product. These pellets are larger and thus dont stick to his fur or get in between his toes.  As a puppy, he does sometimes dig in the box, so the pellets tend to fly out.  But they are very easy to pick up off the floor and control odors well.

I like the product, BUT Walmart slapped a label on the product bag which was paper not plastic.  It wasn't even lined with plastic.  It was delivered to my door in a rainstorm and the package dissolved and the contents spilled onto my stoop. I dislike overpackaging, but this was ridiculous.

Walmart Ruined my product

Yesterdays News cat litter was recommended by our vet after de-clawing surgery. It was very expensive at the vets office however,  after using  it I found it to be as advertised. MUCH longer lasting and no oder.. The clay based litters I've tried don"t begin to compare. Walmarts carries Yesterdays News  (via internet) at a price lower than many of the conventional litters .  The cat adapted to it immediatly.  Great product!

I have been using Yesterday's News since before Purina purchased the rights to it. Very low dust-my asthmatic cat's symptoms have reduced dramatically. Odor control is best I've found. Absorbency is fabulous. Works the best when waste removed daily.
