Ease Of Installation

Battery Life

I replaced an older Yale lock with this new one because I thought it would be so convenient to just use my Apple watch or phone for easy entry; and of course, you can still use the keypad if you happen to go off without your watch or phone. The installation was very easy, and while I did have some tight spacing issues with my existing door handle and the lock hardware, it ended up lining up fine once everything was tightened up. This deadbolt actually opens/closes and lines up better than the original lock I had. Scanning the QR to add the device to Apple Homekit was a little challenging due to the angle up against the door and shadows, but after a couple tries it worked. Very pleased overall.

Sturdy, sleek looking, and it has a lot of nest functions especially being able to open the lock with my Apple Watch.

Yale Excels

This is the second Yale Assure Lock I've purchased. It's a lot more efficient and easier to get in and out of the house than fishing for the correct key. Especially in inclement weather when the dog is antsy.

I really like my smart locks.

I purchased this to replace a kwikset lock with zwave. This seems to work better, more quieter, and also seems to have great support for Apple Home Key. I'd recommend - battery life is still to be determined though.

Great Upgrade

Amazing after set up. Yale part was fine. Took a while to sync with apple HomeKit.

Setup was tricky, but everything works seamlessly now

Tricky setup but excellent product

Installed this lock to upgrade an old Nest x Yale one and help the kids tap and go. Installation was a cinch, however getting the phones configured for Digital keys wasn't as straight forward. Adding new keys was also not intuitive hence one less ⭐️.

Great Lock. Tricky HomeKit Setup

I bought these smart locks specifically because they were advertised as compatible with Apple HomeKit. However these locks were very cumbersome to register with HomeKit and after multiple attempts to get them to work with Apple Home, the interface proved to be sporadic and most time non-responsive. The Yale app works fine, but it has no real automations so you are reliant on Homekit to do that and unfortunately it works poorly. I don't know if it's Apple or Yale's fault, cut either way I was very disappointed.

Poor Apple HomeKit Interface

I bought this lock specifically for HomeKit integration, but it does not work well at all. The lock constantly "drops" and shows Unresponsive in HomeKit, and HK notifications are either missed or extremely delayed (up to several hours!). I've had many Yale Assure locks over the years and usually love them, but this one missed the mark.
