<p>The first knife for little cooks and chefs - the TWINNY children's knife by ZWILLING was designed to teach children how to use a knife in a way that is appropriate to their age. The children's knife can be used from the age of 3, but always under adult supervision, and is specially designed for children's hands. For greater safety when cutting fruit and vegetables, the knife blade is rounded. The kitchen knife for children includes a dark blue hand and finger guard, which is used to securely hold the food to be cut and easily guide the children's knife along it. Thanks to the snap-in points on both sides, the finger guard made of sturdy plastic at the same time acts as a storage sheath and blade guard for the knife and the blade can be slid in from both sides. While my 5 year old grandson was hesitant at first to use it, he caught on immediately.   Now when I say that it is lunchtime, he gets his stepstool and waits for his sandwich fixings and his knife.  He is so proud that he can use a "real knife"!  

This is a fantastic product for introducing a child to food prep and cooking!

The knife was exactly as described and is easy to use. My son-in-law is a chef and he and his oldest daughter (just turned four) were delighted to take the knife for a spin in the kitchen. This was the perfect gift for her, as she loves working alongside her dad in the kitchen.

Wonderful Gift for My Granddaughter

I bought this for our 5 year old. Shes always helping in the kitchen and I think its a great idea the finger guard doubles as a protective sheath.

I love this I used to be a chef and my 6 year old liked to help in the kitchen, this is enough of an edge for simpler tasks around the kitchen while teaching him knife safety while us enjoying family time, and leveling up his kitchen skills and confidence!

I recently bought the Zwilling Twinny Knife set, and it's perfect for kids! Yesterday, my 10-year-old daughter tried using it for the first time. Every time she watches me chopping vegetables with a big kitchen knife, she gets excited and wants to try it herself. But she's always been a bit scared of cutting herself. With this new set, though, she felt confident, and she did really well! All her fingers are still intact—haha!

well sized for kids hands

I bought this for my 6 year old son to start using. I feel it is important to teach knife handling and cutting techniques, to youg children. As it is a life long skill. Only 4 stars, because it is a Christmas gift and we have not actually used it.
