Price

This is a good flyfishing starter kit. It is actually ready to fish out of the box and the instruction book is very helpful. This will not break the bank to learn how to fly fish.

This Martin fly combo is perfect to get started with.  Everything you need, except hungry fish.  My grandkids will have lots of fun, once the ice leaves our favorite lakes.  It's ready to go right out of the box!

I definitely made the right purchase here...

I bought this because it was a Martin, I have one that is over 40 years old and wanted to see the new style, which, of course is plastic, but. Better than I expected. it virtually came ready to go fly fishing, everything but the water. Braided backing, fly line and tapered leader. The 5 included flies was a nice addition, plus they were usable, not junk. My only issue is the rod, the reel attachment is backwards. When the reel is attached there is about 2 inches of the reel seat sticking out the back, all my other fly rods have the fixed seat at the back and you tighten it in front of the reel.

Seems good, time will tell

I bought this for my son who is an avid fly fisherman. He says it is a nice package with extras. He says it had already things done for you that you didn't have to take time to set up. Worked with ease. Enjoyed the extras included.

Perfect Fly Combo

Being fairly new to fly fishing, I was looking for a light rod & reel combo not very expensive, but with a metal reel. I spotted this deal on the computer, and read all the reviews. I like the feel , and look, but haven't fished with it yet. Early March now so it won't be long. I want to purchase a kayak also, and use this in the kayak also, since its so light. So far I like very much. Will write again in the spring.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it is a nice little kit. The fly pole had everything I needed to get started.

Love it. Light as a feather. I just have to learn how to use it. I did alright for being the first time useing a fly rod in about 40 yrs. Just don't make the same mistake I did. I put the three sections together and started to cast and the top two section came off together and ended up in the creek so I wet them and put them together before trying again. I fished for a good two hrs after that with no problems. I didn't catch anything but I can't blame the rod because there was an experienced fly fisherman right next to me who struck out too. I'd refer this rod. It's light and well constructed and a descent price.

Very light weight!

price good.  reel wasn't bad like others said but didn't like that the line was not weight forward.  i think this is a good rod if you are not sure if you are going to commit.  i bought a bass pro reel with drag and weight forward line and im content.  so my total outlay is around $80.

Absolute toy, its just for a beginner, spend the few extra bucks for a quality reel with a drag a real drag!  The flies look good but last 1 fish, 1 small fish
