If you have tap water that has a tds count of 20 or less this filter can last three months, the actual meter will state 0 even after three months but i change it anyway, i live in South Carolina which has one of the top 3 drinking waters in all of the USA
If you have a tds count higher, then such will affect your filters life span

Based on water quality, five stars! Tastes better than Britta. I also LOVE the tester. I tested my cold water before filtering at 150 ppm, and it dropped to zero after filtering. It also helped me discover that the mesh filter in my Kettle was leaching toxins and that my Brita (past filter replacement date) was adding particles to my water, not removing them.)

I saw reviews saying the filter was difficult to attach, but not at all. I suspect they were trying to drop it in from the top the way you do with Brita. But you need to screw it in from the bottom - easy peasy, fits like a glove.

Taking off one star because the batteries in the tester were dead when it arrived. Also the spout on this jug is a bit too narrow and can spill if you tip the jug too quickly. It can also spill if the tap water hasn't fully filtered down to the lower jug portion yet. 

While you can't beat the price of this jug + filter + tester ($21.96), replacement filters are pricey ($18-$20 each).

Overall, highly recommend. I will be ditching my Brita and using ZeroWater from now on!

Great Tasting Water!

It's all about the filter. I finally replaced my 10 cup zero water system for the 7 cup unit. The design of the 7 cup pitcher is barely adequate. The top comes in two pieces that are a challenge to line up properly for a secure fit. Attaching the filters are a challenge as well. It is difficult to align the threads for a secure leakproof fit. But it is really all about their superior filter that purifies my water. That is what is most important to me, but having a better designed pitcher would be ideal.

It's all about the filter.

My only complaint about the pitcher concerns the compartment at the top in which the water is poured. There are many 'nooks and crannies' formed by the plastic columns that hold the cover in place. These structures allow for the accumulation of impurities contained in the water that issues from our faucet and make it very difficult to clean the inside of the top compartment. My suggestion is that the inside of this compartment be redesigned so that the inside walls of this compartment are smooth thus facilitating easier cleaning and maintenance.

The machining of the pitcher is HORRENDOUS. Really cheaply made compared to Brita. The cartridge doesn't fit well and it took me 30 minutes to screw it properly. Otherwise filter itself was good and did a much better job than Brita. I live by my own and this one filter lasted exactly one month. A bit pricey.

Horrible pitcher

The filters only last about 2 1/2 weeks and are very expensive. After that, the water gets a chemical weird taste. The lid is hard to get off and put back on when trying to refill it and the little silicone gasket falls out sometimes when doing that as well. The filter clogs up like the filter media clogged up and doesn't let water through so you have to take it out and shake it and put it back in. If you have water in the top of it, you were unable to pour out the water that's already in the picture. Would definitely not recommend.  The only reason I keep using it is because it does filter way more contaminants than other pictures on the market and will have to do until I can get a reverse osmosis under the sink unit installed. That is it's only saving grace.

The pour spout shoots water out its not user friendly. It also came with a tester which was cool but now I'm painfully aware that it DOESN'T filter as advertised. After following all directions the meter confirmed only half of contaminates was filtered as compared to tap.  So if your looking for semi filtered water this is it. Same readings for brita only half removed. To conclude only bottled water tested 0.

Within 3 weeks, the provided water filter was ineffective and there was a fishy odor emitting from my filtered water. I believe this is because of the type of water filter that is provided. Not wasting time or money getting more filters for something that doesn't initially provide satisfaction.

I ourchased this item on 3/15 and received it after a could days. today is 3/28 and already the water tastes actually terrible and have a reading of 705! Doubling what my tap water reading is. Mind you, I only use this zero water to make my coffee. Definitely not purchasing anymore from zero water and do not recommend.

Either my filter was defective or the filter only lasts 1 day.
I opened the package, put the filter in the pitcher, tested my water 278 DSP tested water after 0 DSP water tasted great. I drink a lot of water, probably 3 pitchers, that first day, next morning I pour a glass of water and it has a terrible acidic taste, I look online to see what is happening, it says the filter is shot, time for a new one.  WHAT!?! $15 filter lasts 1 day?!?

The $15 one day filter system, no thank you!
