Ziplock Endurables

I enjoyed using this product from ziploc as I am trying to reduce my use of single use disposable bags. This product is reusable and is dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe. It features durable silicone which is preferred over plastic. The product itself is easy to use and wash. The zip top has the signature ziploc easy open tab at the top which makes opening easier. I have other reusable silicone bags and I always struggle with opening and closing. I also like that it has tabs on the side called cool grab tabs. It was convenient for taking hot things out of the microwave. The zip top is similar to other brands and I find it a tad easier to close/ slide compared to other silicone bags on the market. The zip top is secure and no liquids came out even if when I tipped it over and shook. As with all zip bags you have to make sure it is completely sealed/ closed. The pricing is fair and on the more affordable side for a reusable zipper pouch/bag. I plan to buy a few other sizes and styles. I wish they had these bags in other colours and designs. The medium pouch is the same as a sandwich ziploc. I wish they offer a few more bigger size options.

Great affordable reusable silicone bag

We have been concerned about our family's use of one time plastics and are always looking for ways to minimize our negative impact on the environment. Pleasantly surprised by Ziploc Endurables. Durable with a solid seal that wouldn't open accidentally. Impressed with the options it offers with it being freezer, microwave, oven AND dishwasher safe. Looking forward to purchasing more as these will become environmentally friendly option in our kitchen.

An environmentally friendly addition to our kitchen!

I tested this item in a bit of disbelief that I could go from frozen to heated without the use of multiple plates etc. Well I was wrong it actually did a great job of acting as a thawed, frozen, and cooking bag. I have used it and threw it In the dishwasher where it did not shrink and looks to be the same as when I got it. This is an interesting new product I'm happy to buy a few more.

Decent value for less dishes

I tried out the Ziploc Endurables a medium pouch which holds 473mL of liquid. I like this as this is a reusable silicone pouch that can be used from freezer to oven to table. The silicone is thick enough that it doenst feel very bulky. It also does not have any smell. It is leakproof which is important when using it to freeze food and use it to sous vide food. It is easy to seal and I liked having the side extended to hold on to when taking it out of the microwave. Also great for holding snacks or even non food items (I can see this as something I can also use when I go traveling). The only con I have for this medium pouch is that it doesn't stand up- like what they have for the small pouch which will be helpful when heating food up in the microwave and also makes it hard to dry as you will need to something to prop it open. Other than that it's a versatile product which I will likely incorporate more of this into my kitchen

A versatile product!

The pouch was thick and sturdy silicon and it felt like it would last a long time. I was disappointed that the zip closure at the top did not seem to open very far, the pastry I put inside it did not fit very well although once it was inside there was plenty of room. After use it cleaned up very well but it was difficult to get small crumbs out from the zip close edges.

Nice thick silicon pouch

I was very excited to test SCJohnson's Ziploc Endurables. I tested the medium size pouch that holds 473 ml. The pouch itself is made of thick food grade silicone which feels very durable. After washing it, the first test I put it through was in the microwave. I placed a frozen burger bun in the pouch and was pleasantly surprised to see that even with a small "vent" opening, the bun defrosted without hardening which is a more eco friendly alternative to wrapping in a paper towel (my usual method). I then proceeded to test the secure seal. I filled it with water and made sure to press the seal properly, more than once to ensure it was properly closed. I flipped it upside down and was happy to see that the water didn't leak. But once I shook the pouch, the seal broke open and let the water escape. I had the same result 3 times in a row. The seal also broke open when I put pressure on top of the pouch. Although I would not carry liquid in it to travel with, I am still quite pleased with the product. I can see myself using it to reheat many things and love the idea of being able to bring a lunch to work without having to worry about lugging a heavy glass container when trying to avoid plastic. I especially love the fact that it can go from freezer, to microwave to dishwasher. It is definitely a very practical item to have!

Versatile Product

I like that the product is silicone and is versatile in that it can be used for the fridge, freezer, a regular zip loc bag, as well as can be used to reheat items in the microwave. I tested out the product by reheating some leftovers in the microwave. As the product is a bag and doesn't have a flat bottom, I had to lay it on its side. As such, I placed a plate underneath to avoid any spills. To my surprise, once reheated, there were no spills, even though I left the bag open for venting. The food was reheated successfully One thing I did not like is that the bag was very hot to touch coming out of the microwave and did not lose that feeling quickly, making it hard to handle when removing from the microwave. All in all I think the product will be useful

Good functionality but runs hot

They are durable and have a better zipper than most I've tried. But they are smaller than you would expect for their size.

Small than you'd think.

I tried using the product with a sadwich. The product for me is innovative and can help resolve the use of plastic. These can help me save money too, because the product is reusable. I also like the fact that it is really leak-proof so I won't worry about the possible mess on my bag. The only slight concern that I see is the product attracts dust like a magnet. it does not affect the contets inside but it is visible and can slightly affect your appetite, seing dust and hair on the bag when eating.

This is a nice thick reusable bag for dry items like chips and crackers, but when I tried to fill it with my dinner leftovers I found it difficult to maneuver when filling the pouch. I usually store my leftovers in containers and will continue to do so. It is also difficult to air dry because the opening is small and it doesn't stay open.

Not worth it!
