This item was purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter after she saw videos of the Hedgiez and fell in love. These are a great idea for an interactive "pet" and I love that the Hedgiez move around, rather than sit stationery and just chatter.  Can't wait for her to open this Christmas morning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With a 5 year old boy and a 9 year old girl, we allowed them to open it together and experiment. It required 3 AAA batteries that were not included, so you might want to make sure you have them on-hand. Our daughter was able to sort out the directions and get it working immediately, and the boy quickly learned the steps as well. For background, both of these kids are very much into interactive video games, and the boy enjoys playing with cars.
Our daughter lost interest fairly quickly, after she ran through the repertoire of activities. The younger one, however, took an instant delight with this toy, and I think the limited amount of things the Flip does was actually a plus, since he was not overwhelmed with too many choices. He instantly adopted the Hedgie Flip, and invented lots more things to do with it. It has become his favorite toy, and he even takes it to bed with him every night.

We then fell in love with this lovable pet after listining to her and watching her do summersaults, talk, sing, laugh, sneeze, her eyes glow, rub her belly and she is happy and she goes around in circles.  My daughter has not left it alone and brings her everywhere. She showed it to the neighbors who have little girls and they even fell in love with her.

Love the cool tricks Flip can do. Even my 1 year old loves to chase Flip around the house. The dogs and cats weren't to sure of Flip at first but now even they chase Flip around the floor

This is cute, my 2 yr old granddaughter is still a little scared of it when it looks at her because the green  lit up eyes do look a little freaky. Only moves on smooth surface but will flip on carpet but won't land back on its feet, so you'll have to fix it every time but no big deal. It has certain spots to touch it to have it do different reactions, the nose twitches, so cute! And it will put itself in sleep mode after a few minutes of no touching...pretty good buy, might get another in a different color just so she will have 2 tumbling around..might be more fun for her..we'll see :)

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Zoomer Hedgiez product says it's intended for children ages 4 and up and my 4-year-old loves it! She likes the soft fur and cuddles him often even though he's not a squishy toy. She also enjoys combing his fur with the included comb. I feel like the inter-activeness is limited, especially given the retail cost. Sometimes it will flip when you pet it and sometimes it won't. It does giggle when you rub it's belly. The Hedgie doesn't say very much that's distinguishable other than "hello." My biggest issue is the bright green glowing eyes. Everyone agrees that they're a little creepy, so much so that my 10-month-old son is terrified of the toy when it's turned on. He immediately starts crying and looking for me or mom to hold him. I realize this toy isn't intended for his use, but it's not easy to have a toy in the home that scares your child so much when someone else wants to play with it. Given that it only flips on hardwood in our home, that further limits the places my daughter can play with it. All in all, it's a great toy that she enjoys, but if you have a skittish child or infant in the home, it may be best to purchase something else.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We just saw the Zoomer Hedgiez at a local toy store and both of my kids (daughter is 7, son is 3) thought they were  "so cute." They were so excited when we were able to try one out, like standing-on-my-heels-while-I'm-trying -to-open-the-package excited. We received Flip, the blue Hedgiez. Once I unscrewed the battery door, popped in 4 AAA batteries, and tightened the door, we were in business. My kiddos enjoyed petting it because the 'fur' was
pretty soft (there were two random prickly pieces in the fur, kind of felt like like the plastic tag string) and there are a few sensors on the nose, forehead, and belly that got Flip to interact with them. They got its nose to wiggle and make noises, but they loved when they got it to do flips and handstands by petting it on the forehead.  They spent about fifteen minutes playing with it on the kitchen floor. My 7 year-old daughter started to lose interest and let her little brother take over. Once we moved to our living room, which is carpeted, the Hedgiez couldn't do a complete flip over to land back on its legs. That didn't seem to bother my son, who just gave it an extra push to get it over.  After another 5-10 minutes the little one was done playing with it and decided to find a cave for it to sleep in for the night. This morning, he played with it again for a little bit before we ran errands. All in all, fun for the kiddos. The noises and sound effects aren't horribly annoying for parents. We have carpeting throughout most of our house, so that seems to impede on full flips for Flip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Initally my daughter loved this hedgehog.  She played with it for 2 days straight after she got it.  However, it's been pretty much thrown to the side since then.  It works great...the only issue I had was "petting" the forehead to make it do what it was supposed to.  It seemed to work better if you "pet" the hairline instead.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My children were excited to the get the Zoomer Flip Hedgiez in the mail.  Once it arrived they were excited to anxious to see what all it did.  However, the excited didn't last long.  The toy is an average toy for children 4+.  It would be better suited for a toddler.  The toy flips and rolls around.  It speaks in jiberish and has some creepy light up eyes that were distracting.  I think the product is a great product, but the age range is off.
