Got this on Boxing Day for my youngest and recieved it in just a few days, she loves playing with her Zoomer

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first opened the box, I was not impressed. The little robot dog was filthy, completely covered with some sort of dust. I was able to remove all the dust with some baby wipes, and he looked nice and new, and when I turned the power switch on, the robot functioned just fine. I went through the list of voice commands in the included booklet, and the puppy responded well to them. The wheels are very strong. It balances great, and it travels across carpeted floors just as well as hard floors.

This little robot is absolutely adorable and extremely entertaining. My son is only three, and his speech isn't the clearest yet, but he loves this thing, even though it doesn't respond to his voice commands. He doesn't seem to mind one bit. He loves watching the dog zip across the room, smiles as the puppy's eyes light up, and giggles whenever it makes it's noises. Sure, the box indicates that this is for ages "5+", but there doesn't seem to be anything on this that could hurt a smaller child, and there are no tiny choking hazards or anything like that. I supervise him when he is playing with this toy, so he can learn how to take care of it and not break it.

This is a pretty noisy toy, but it is certainly tolerable. Shadow has an internal battery that has to be charged with a USB cord. Only the USB cord is included, so you will need to purchase a wall charger, or plug the cord into your computer. It takes about an hour to charge. After it is fully charged, it only has about 30 minutes of play time before the battery dies. So, it doesn't have enough time to become annoying. At first my son was annoyed by having to recharge it, but he is learning to be patient. My son has a lot of fun with this toy, and I don't see him getting bored with it anytime soon.

I was so excited to give Shadow to my two boys (age 5 and 2). I charged him (which only took about 30 minutes straight out of the box) and then reviewed the instructions before giving him to the kids. The second they saw him scooting around on the floor, they were hooked. My two year old thought it was the most hilarious thing ever and my five year old wanted to know what all it could do.

I started giving Shadow basic commands (sit, play dead, etc.) and found him to be fairly responsive. We had a couple issues with him understanding what we were saying...but that was likely to do with the two year old yelling in the background. I taught my five year old how to give a command and he was able to do it right away (and Shadow understood him).

The battery life is decent...we played with him for about 30 minutes straight and he was still going strong. At that point we needed to start homework and bedtime routines, so we put him away. We have played with him every day for the past two weeks. This is a smart toy...he is learning more every time we play with him and has learned some new tricks.

This toy isn't just for the kids...my husband and I have both really enjoyed playing with him. We might have even turned him on after the kids went to bed one night. You know...to teach him some new tricks. We don't have a dog of our own, so Shadow has been a fun addition to the family. I would highly, highly recommend him. The price is a little steep, but the technology and play time is worth it for sure. He is also very durable...my two year old isn't the most gentle of children and he has picked him up, dropped him, etc. and there isn't a scratch on him.

Fun, Interactive Toy for the Whole Family

I received shadow to test from the company. My kids, nieces and nephews love him. He does so many tricks, speaks, and can understand english, spanish, and french. The kids had a ball teaching him to roll the ball and get a kick out of it when he says, "I love you". They erupted into fits of giggles when he "peed" on the floor. It is a well made product, could hold a charge longer, but overall, grest. II am getting Zoomer as well.

Shadow is tons of fun

I bought this for my son for Christmas and he loves it. It was definitely money well spent.

Great buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the most fun interactive toy we have played with so far! The whole family has been playing with Shadow and we are really enjoying it.

The concept is quite simple in that you are “training” the dog to do tricks. Some commands he will do right away, while some will take repetition for him to “learn” them. Even after all the playing we've done with him he's still not fully trained. If you stop playing with him for long periods of time he will “forget” what he's learned and you will have to start training him again.

The sounds are very puppy like, not robot sounding like some interactive toys. He rolls well on carpet and tile, but if there's a throw rug he may get hung up. He's got sensors in his chest so he knows when to stop and turn around without bumping in to things. If left alone he will go around doing various puppy things until he gets tired, then he will fall asleep.

The batteries are rechargeable via USB. Charging takes about one hour and you get around 30 minutes of play out of it.

This is a super cute toy that we all enjoy.

Very Awesome Interactive Toy!

We received Shadow to test and try at home. Both my 6 year old boy and 3 year old girl (even though it is recommended for ages 5 and up) love Shadow! Our Shiba Inu even gets in on the fun chasing it around the house. This robotic dog teaches children patience while it is learning new commands. Shadow can play with a ball, say "I love you" in the cutest puppy tone, and even pretend to have "accidents" inside the house. I must say, the only thing that could be improved is that it tends to have a short battery life (about 20 minutes), however you can conveniently plug it into the USB port in your computer! Moms can appreciate any toy that you do not have to buy batteries for!!

Fun toy

My kids love this cute little toy. I have a 14, 6, and 3 year old, and each one of them has enjoyed playing with Shadow. We have two real dogs, so obviously we know that this little dog doesn't compare to them, but I think he would be great for kids who wanted a dog, but couldn't have one because of allergies or maybe because their place of residence wouldn't allow real pets. And, this dog won't bite a rough toddler!! This is a pretty amazing toy. My kids love training him. He takes commands very well. Even my three year old can do it. The puppy, just like a real puppy, takes some time to train and sometimes he just doesn't want to do what you tell him. Just like life :) I highly recommend this cute little dog!

Sweet Puppy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been unlucky with regular pets, so I thought, Why not give a Pet Robot a chance. Now that I am in my 'twilight years', I figure it would be easier to take care of, would not make a mess, would not require boarding or food while we went out of town. Best of all, we can turn him off when we got bored with him. Well, the first day we got him, it was a real struggle to free him from the box he was shipped in. Happy to finally free him, we followed instructions to charge him for the required hour it takes to fully charge. Once fully charged, we turned him on after setting him to English mode. Other videos I have seen on him claim he has a rear feature to allow him just to do tricks without the need for giving him commands, but I have yet to find that.
As with any new pet there is a learning curve, a lot of forgiveness and the need for patience. This little guy has won our hearts even if we feel right now he is 'challenged' in the voice recognition department. So do we so he fits right into our household. There are two very different voices in our household, mine and my husband.
Left on his own, Shadow will just have fun anyway and is most amusing. He gets his commands a bit messed up right now. The book that comes with says there are secret commands he can learn as well, looking forward to the other tricks, and the upside down question mark feature.
If you ask our Shadow to dance, he hums/sings a tune. Quite amusing. He has lots of instructions that come with him. I love the various features, such as the question marks in his eyes, or the Xs when he does not understand. Tell him you Love him, and he gets all excited shows heart symbols ib his eyes and lets out the sweetest loving puppy sounds. We have lots to learn and do not plan on giving up on him. He is bringing some joy and laughter to our otherwise boring retirement life.
I am a bit puzzled why they post Ages 5+, I feel a small child is more apt to destroy this toy than appreciate discovering everything it does. Maybe they have a better target buyer with us "Seniors". It is definitely a fun topic for discussion, and we are enjoying it.
I will continue to search now, for a Pet Robot Cat. I am a Cat Person.
Things this robot dog will never be able to do, is phone 911 in an emergency.
There are more pros than Cons. I wish it stayed charged for more than a half hour.

Patience is Needed with This little guy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is not an instant gratification toy. They ought to make it possible to charge the battery in the box so it can be played with out of the box. Out of the box it has to charge first which takes some time. After charging, you have to wait for the battery to cool off. When you can finally play with Zoomer, he's hard to control and lasted less than 20 minutes. I am opposed to toys that limit a child's play with it. I feel it contributes to ADHD behaviors. Zoomer did twirl around barking and lay down on command. I had a disappointing child when it stopped working and had to be recharged. Interest was quickly lost. Zoomer looks like a fun to play with toy, unfortunately, there isn't as much play with Zoomer.

Overall a disappointment
