I have bought this with some hesitation due to the number of bad reviews that I have seen on the Internet, but I really needed to get a world wide adapter for my devices that I will be using in other countries.

In order for this adapter to work correctly, make sure to do the following 2 things:

1. Read the Instruction leaflet carefully and thoroughly without skipping over any parts.
2. Set the adapter to the country plug that you would like to use.
3. When pushing in the 2 prong device plugs from North America into the adapter, make sure to push it in straight and not at an angle. The 2 prongs must be pushed into the adapter at the same time and it will get inside without any issues. For 3 prongs North American plugs that are grounded, when pushing it into the adapter, put a little more pressure when pressing it into the adapter for the 2 prong side instead of on the grounded prong. It will go into the adapter with no issues.

Also once you plug it into an electrical outlet, the adapter will have a green led light that will light up indicating that everything is working fine.

If following these steps and you still have trouble with the adapter, then the adapter is probably defective and you will need to either exchange for another one or get a refund.

I would definitely recommend this product to my friends and family who are traveling abroad.

The built in shutter makes it unbearably difficult to insert plugs.
You have to wiggle it around but does eventually fit.
However, the prongs do fit well into outlets and everything else works.

This adapter didn't work from the get go. I returned it as soon as possible after taking it out of the box. Don't waste your money on this item.

Cheap piece of plastic

This is very frustrating - the shutter is not working and I'm leaving for a trip tomorrow morning. I'll probably have to spend double or triple the money buying a new adapter at the airport. Do not buy this.
