Description & Features+

Air Dry Clay is smoother, finer and less sticky than traditional clay; needs no oven or kiln. Softens easily with water and quickly cleans from hands and surfaces. Use with traditional techniques such as pinch, coil, slab, score-and-weld; make stamped impressions, beads; embedding found objects. Can be painted with tempera, acrylic or watercolours when dry.

No Baking. Dries hard. Crayola Air-Dry Clay is a fine, natural earth clay which air-dries to a hard solid. Use it to make clay sculptures, decorative items or plaques. No baking or firing needed. While clay is still wet - add water to soften or join pieces. Works with traditional techniques (coil, slab, pinch, score and weld). Use rubber stamps or textured materials to make impressions. Press beads, small stones or other decorative items directly into clay. Pieces greater than ¼” thick are more durable and less fragile than thinner pieces. When clay is dry – Large, thick pieces may be carved with clay tools (use adult supervision). Thoroughly dry pieces may be painted with tempera, acrylic or watercolour. Drying time for a project is generally 2-3 days, depending on size and thickness of the sculpture. See for tips on working with Air-Dry Clay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 8 year old thinks its fabulous...and so do I This is a fantastic product. Bought a few months ago and my daughter says, "Its so much fun!" It doesn't dry out in the container even when it has a quarter left. My daughter has made all sorts of sculptures as well, a hand print for Fathers Day and even a dog foot print. Dries quick. We give it about 12 hours and its totally dry and use the crayola children's paint on it. I buy the Crayola Paint, brushes and this Air Dry Clay and keep it on stock for go to birthday presents now. Its a great buy, easy to use and doesn't make a mess.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work for me I needed a clay for an anime-inspired mask. I saw the other review from kaylab8 how her crafts fell apart; however, I decided to try this product. Once freshly made, the mask seemed fine. However, after being left at room temperature over the night, multiple cracks developed within the 10-hour period. I tried adding more clay in an attempt to repair the cracks, but, once the clay dried, it developed the cracks again. Please refer to the attached pictures. You can see the freshly made mask, and the same mask after the clay dried. Maybe it is my bad luck, but I will not use this product for anything.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing We used the air dry clay for our son's history project on ancient Egypt. We used it build a model farm house and stable, as well as created animal figurines and let it set overnight at room temperature. The next morning the clay was cracking and falling apart. Very disappointed.
