Initial value was great. Ease of use is great. Replacement pads cost a bit too much if you ask me and only last about 20 disks (Repair + Buffing pads). Cleaning pads last quite a while though (like 220 uses). I found the repacements for an avg. of $10/ pair or about $25 for all 3. I still found it worth it compared to other alternatives.

This product works great. I got this to fix not only my cd's, but my kids x-box cd's. It really makes a big difference for the cd's. Best of all, it arrived at the store sooner than expected. Very good product for the price.

DVD/CD Disc Repair

I purchased this product hoping it would help make a couple of game disks work in my son's gaming system. The 1st disk I tried worked using the basic cleaning step. The 2nd disk required a few more steps. What I like about this product are the progressive steps that may need to be taken to get a bad disk to work. The 1st is a cleaning, the 2nd is a repair, and the 3rd is a buffing. I had to buff and repair the 2nd disk 3 times before it started to work. My expectations are realistic. Some disks are simply beyond repair, but for those that aren't, I highly recommend this product!

SO FAR, SO GOOD

The Aleratec DVD/CD Disc Repair Plus is generally good for what it's advertised to do.

If you have minor scratches affecting playback of your discs or if they're just dirty then this is an excellent product for you.

If the scratches are too deep, it may not be able to repair them even after several cycles.

Good Value

Bought this as a gift for my son who, until recently, has kept all his movies and games in a scattered heap on his floor, leading to lots of damage. He was a bit discouraged to find the the machine did not repair his badly damaged discs immediately, but with a little patience and a few runs through the machine, every disc he has tried is now usable again!!

Gets the Job Done

Cleans up scratches not clearly visible to naked eye, but real scratches that are clearly visible to naked eye not going to help.

Works and doesnt work

the repair plus doesn't last long enough and for bad damage dvd it does not repair them in fact my dvds got worse. but for miner damages it works ok and the system is not worth money i feel i paid for it. I have almost used up my repair plus for scratches just on one disc that did not get repaired

The reviews were so broad. Either customers liked it or hated it. I figured we'd give it a try, and maybe we'd be one of the lucky ones. Nope! We tried several times with several disks and nothing. So, we'll be returning this item, too, as many others before me have.

No Luck for Us

Did not work well while trying to do 1 cd the gears broke and unit froze took it back to store for refund will never buy this again

Bad product

The DVD CD Disc Repair Plus is not worth the price. A good cloth rag and a tube of toothpaste would do as much (and about as quickly) as the DVD CD Disc Repair Plus. It claims to repair even deep scratches but it does not. It leaves concentric swirls along the circular configuration of a DVD (I have not tried it on CDs). It does buff out most of minor scratches (that could be done as easily with a rag and toothpaste) but no more. I will not recommend this item to anyone.
