We bought this several months ago and actually love it. I was initially concerned when I opened the box to assemble because the material for construction appeared flimsy. Because of RealRooms offer of a refund if donated to a charity I proceeded to put it together and was pleased with how solid it was when completed. Fireplace works great and is a nice addition in our small home. What I especially love is the way all your TV and cable cords tuck away out of sight, behind the book case. I get lots of compliments from visitors. Be aware.... This is not a bright white item. I think it's closer to an ivory color.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The (White)Plaster finish is made from cheap Thin Matte Paperlike Sticker material over particleboard, which was damaged in a couple spots upon inspection after unpacking the pieces. And unfortunately the paperlike covering can be ripped or nicked very easily. 
With that being said the Walnut finish pieces look Great and the Fireplace is very nice as well. But as far as the Plaster paperlike pieces go...It is Very Disappointing that material was chosen to be used on this fireplace.
