Ratings & Reviews+

Angelcare- AC420 - Baby Monitor is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 40.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work It works reasonably well. Haven't tried to do too much with it. Overall I'd recommend it as a purchase given the price. Though, if you've got a house with minimal interference with radio signals you'll be just as happy with an analogue (super cheap) baby monitor. Weaknesses: speaker isn't particularly loud; doesn't have a particularly good filter/squelch to suppress undesired background hum but it's NOT disruptive either (we're used to a Fisher Price analogue baby monitor that does a better job of ignoring background noises while allowing us to hear elder brother breathe but it's prone to occasional interference from other electronic devices); beeps to let you know if signal is lost which could be annoying if your receiver is at the edge of its range (the only time it beeps is when we've unplugged the base station to move it). Strengths: digital signal is either present or absent so you don't have cross-talk (interference) with other signals; beeps to let you know signal is lost; rechargeable consumer batteries (either AA or AAA) last a reasonable time when off the charger (just make sure that you keep them charged by placing the receiver on the charging base station!!!); provides a temperature reading of the room the baby is in (not overly important IMNSHO but somewhat useful--we usually keep our room at 15 degrees but baby seems to like it to be around 19 to have a sound sleep). PS it does use AA (or was it AAA?) rechargeable batteries for portable power, but, the base station recharges them for you--no need to pull the batteries out and charge them in a separate device. The monitor comes with the necessary rechargeable batteries so it's fully operational the moment you get it (you may need to allow the monitor sit on the cradle for a few hours to charge the batteries first to have mobility but that's pretty obvious to anyone who's used rechargeable batteries... and, if you've got a young infant I really do hope you've had enough life experience to know how rechargeable batteries work ;).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Husband Monitor Too! Bought this monitor when my husband came home from the hospital and we needed a bed downstairs until he was able to walk . I kept the "parent" monitor by my bed upstairs in case he needed anything during the night. Worked perfectly. Easy setup. No hassles. Clear transmission from a long distance. No static. Long battery life. Just what the doctor ordered!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this unit I've been using this monitor for about 4 years, and it has worked flawlessly. The receiver is plenty loud, and the batteries last a long time between charges. I use it to keep track of a disabled relative.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great item I ordered this for our grandson's visit so his parents wouldn't have to bring/set-up the video monitor they have at home. It was easy to set up, clarity of sound was good and made their visit much smoother. Very pleased with purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great monitor for the price Bought this monitor mostly because of the ability to use both the parent & child units without power (for camping).  As mentioned in other reviews, the parent unit recharges & the child unit uses batteries.   Pros:  easy to use & seems to have a long range  Cons: max volume is too low & the parent unit could use a vibrate feature
