Made with durable components to support weight.

This is a great system for dividing rooms. Sadly it did not fit well in the limited space I'd planned to use it, to subdivide a smaller space than pictured. It has a somewhat modern “institutional” design that for the most part will conceal with your choice of curtain. Love that you can install horizontal bar below ceiling to permit light at the top.

I have bought Umbra products since 7 years ago and they don't disappoint. True to their specifications, durable, affordable, and beautifully designed.

Consistency

We need curtains in our sunroom through this super cold winter. When spring comes we'll take them down to allow more natural light back in. We had a problem with one of the curtain pole and Umbra sent us a replacement very quickly.

Perfect

Purchased this after rattling from nearby construction caused my single-bar horizontal tension curtain rod to fall down. I was the one filled with tension after that! I needed something that wouldn't fall down and I am confident this curtain rod is the answer. It's design is fabulous and can easily accommodate my 9-pounds worth of blackout curtains without any sagging from the middle rod.

Peace of Mind!

Before you buy, I strongly advised you to give your room a quick measure before you purchased it. There is a minimum height limit!! If your ceiling is too low, the two vertical poles will not fit inside the space. (For me, it will not fit inside the living room, but luckily, I bought it for my bedroom which has a higher ceiling, and it fit perfectly).

The setup was easier than I thought, and the experience felt like playing with giant pieces of Lego. The overall design is very clever and versatile, as both the height and the width of the divider can be easily adjusted to fit different spaces. 

I have also unlocked a new function for this curtain rod: to dry clothing that cannot be thrown into the dryer (assuming the garments are not heavy).

Cons: I find it difficult to be set up perfectly vertical with just one person. An additional pairs of hand and a level might be needed, if you want it to look perfect in your room. However, the set up process is very easy and straightforward, so if you have the time, you might be do it perfectly on your own after several tries.

Intuitive and Convenient Design

So glad I bought this. I live in a studio and this helped create a sense of separation between my living area and bed.
I'm 5'3 and 126lbs and was able to put it together by myself. It took me a while (about an hour) but it definitely got done! I'm hoping it stays put.

Exactly what I needed

This product is so versatile and adaptable. I bought two of them to cover a large bookcase that both looked really messy and was getting sun damaged. These worked great! I ordered some white curtains online to go with it and it solved my issue so quickly. My apartment feels transformed and looks much more refined!

The product is well built and very sturdy if you install it correctly - you just have to tighten the adjustments in the right order.

I could see this being useful in so many other areas in my apartment - as a room divider next to my work from home space, as a zoom backdrop, or of course in front of windows! I might have to get more of them...

Versatile product quickly transformed my apartment

Bought these for my daughter's new apartment that has a massive window span (almost floor to ceiling) with no rods (18' wide). Honestly if it wasn't for these I have no idea how she could have put curtains on her windows as they would have had to been secured to the ceiling and would have cost a fortune. I found these amazing rods and in no time we assembled and spaced them out. One hack though... If your floor or ceiling isn't perfectly level you will have an issue. Our fix? That white tacky putty you use to secure pictures and things to the wall. We put a small round patch of this on the bottom of each leg and the pressure adjusted the putting making the uneven floor level and keeping the rods in place. And, when she moves, these will go with her. This is ideally a 2 person operation, one to hold the rod in place the other to tighten the bottom of the pole to make it secure. It's not spring loaded like a shower curtain rod. Over the years there have been many times I could have used these, and they'd also be fantastic as room dividers.

Where has THIS been all my life?!

I bought this a month ago and it seems to be holding up pretty well with 2 curtain panels on it. I had another person help me hold up the tension rods while I tightened them at the bottom. You will need a flat ceiling for the system to be stable. I scraped some of my popcorn ceiling off where I needed the rods to be. For the price, it's not a bad room divider for some privacy.

I like it, but wish the cross bar could go all the way up to the ceiling. It's a bit inelegant for floor to ceiling curtains.

Good quality, not the most lovely design

This is hard to install.  The poles will always try to skip back down by gravity so it's hard to put it upright at a good enough tension.  Then give it enough time, in my case, a week, it collapsed.  More interestingly, the connection point of the horizontal bar also breaks off.

After the collapse, the poles get stuck in length and cannot be adjusted.  The whole thing is now rendered metal waste at my home.

Good concept, bad execution.
