My husband and I recently bought a new Samsung 46" 1080 HD TV and one week later purchased the Apple TV. We are very pleased. Set up was tricky because the language was in French and we had a hard time reading it to get back to the language selection menus! I relied on my one year of French in junior high school to figure it out! Amazingly I was able to get us back to the proper screen. After that was done, set up was easy. We both have iPads so we were already set up with an iTunes account. We watched Life of Pi that evening, and three seasons of Dowton Abbey. We love it. Even if you had to set up an account with iTunes, it would be simple. We are going to check out Netflix and Hulu next. We love it!

Great price. I have purchased three of these units already.  Two of this same model and one of the newer Apple TV models.  This one is a Christmas present for my grandson.  Last year we got my granddaughter one and have never had any issues with any of them.

If you are part of Apple's "ecosystem" this is a great addition to your home entertainment setup. With the latest devices from Apple you can mirror your iPad, iPod, or even laptop screen onto your TV with sound. It's easy to setup, easy to use, and it looks great.

Solid Product

Basically Apple TV is switching to television via the Internet. You purchase a small computer box from Apple, plug in the Internet from your modum and plug Apple TV into your TV monitor. There are some good videos on youTube demonstrating how to do it. I contacted my Internet provider and they upgraded my modum free for better Internet streaming.
I miss being able to see live sports but I see nationally televised games since I keep basic cable. I' purchased Hulu and Netflix and am exploring these programs. Walmart gave me a $15 gift certificate for iTunes for purchasing Apple TV. In particular I enjoy many past programs from PBS. I was spending $102 a mouth for cable. Now I pay $38 total with more programming options except for the Red Sox and Celtics. Since I kept the basic economy cable service ($22 a month) I still have local stations, the major networks and they are in high definition.

An excellent way to end high cable costs.

Apple TV is a user appliance tailored for anyone with hands and eyes. Zero user technical experience is assumed by Apple. Plug it in, turn on the TV and it just works. If you have a funny WiFi setup you will need to enter network password in the Apple TV but that is all, after that it will just work.
Watching online content, mirroring your Mac, iPhone or iPad, or a PC onto a TV without wires is what this device does. There are competing ones, I have not used them. Apple TV does everything I need for remote projection onto a TV.

Apple TV is simple and flawless

The product itself was terrific, however the way that Walmart.com shipped the order was extremely disappointing. I have bought many items from Walmart.com and a few times I noticed the products were packaged poorly. When I purchased the Apple TV which is a piece of electronic equipment, it cam in a box with no inside packing. The 4X4 inch apple box bounced around a larger Walmart shipping box. The outer box was partially crushed. I have purchased other things from Walmart.com with similar results. I purchased some health and beauty products from them and two tubes of toothpaste were crushed. The prices and products are great, however they have to look into their shipping and packing department. I am a very big internet shopper and it has never happened with Amazon. Please look into your shipping practices. Again the product and price receive 5 stars, the shipping gets a zero. Thank you.

The Apple Product was everything I expected.

This is truly a great product. It takes up where cable/satellite/TV leaves off. It functions when there is no cable/satellite or regular TV available. However, it offers what all those services provide with no subscription fees. You get local channels, movies, news, weather channel, TV series and more. All you do is purchase the product at a very low price and it is yours forever without any additional costs involved. I LOVE IT!!

Great Product

I debated buying this product or a Roku. The reason I went with a Apple TV is because all my other devices are Apple. This means any music and videos I have purchased from ITunes in the past I can easily stream to my Apple TV. Apple TV also let's me watch movies from Netflix and other providers, and unlike Roku, I can watch YouTube videos. You can also purchase other videos on demand. There's even live sports you can watch. 

The downside to this product is I can't access some Canadian TV programs I am most fond of. For me, I want to watch news channels and the weather network, which includes the weather network, CP24 and CBC news. I can't access of any these from Apple TV. I also can't stream videos I'm used to watching for free online, such as shows from Global and CBC. Some of these shows are available on Apple TV, but Apple wants me to pay per episode.

In terms of ordering this product from Walmart, this was a great decision. I received the order the same day I ordered it. It was a very nice surprise, given the estimated arrival date was a week later!

Great addition to mac, not enough free content

We love our new Apple TV! We decided to go without cable tv to save some money and the Apple TV with Hulu plus is just like our DVR! I only wish that it came with more free apps. There are tons of apps to use, but all require a subscription except for PBS.

New Apple TV, love it!

Not working for me in mirroring game to TV because there is a serious delay and video lagging. Only good for movie streaming like average streaming player. Also, the mirrored screen on TV looks more like the old 4:3 ratio TV then the iPad or iPhone's wide screen. I was disappointed
