Ratings & Reviews+

Avent Bottle to Cup Trainer Kit is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fan! Great cup I am a big fan of Avent products. I have been using Avent bottles/cups/pacifiers since 2005. I consider it a leading, trusted brand. This Philips AVENT 5 Ounce Natural Trainer Cup, Clear does not disappoint. I love that it came with a textured silicone nipple (more like mama) and also a silicone "sippee" spout. I like that the shape of the Philips AVENT 5 Ounce Natural Trainer Cup, Clear is more like a breast with the wide nipple. My seven month old son is exclusively breast fed, so it is very important to me that I find a bottle/sippee cup that he will drink Out of comfortably when I can't nurse him. He had no issue with this trainer cup. He seemed quite comfortable with the transition from breast to bottle. That is a big win win for me! Sometimes I need I run errands, or just a break and it's awesome that he likes his Philips AVENT 5 Ounce Natural Trainer Cup, Clear to drink mamas milk from! I like that it is easy to take apart, and clean. I also love that it doesn't leak! Ain't nobody got time to clean up a leaky mess!! Plus breast milk is hard enough to pump without losing it from a leaky bottle! In all seriousness, the Philips AVENT 5 Ounce Natural Trainer Cup, Clear is a great choice for baby's first trainer cup. I need to go and get a few more. There are a bunch of cute colors and a few prints that I would like to get (I love sippee cups!). Do yourself a favor and get this cup! your baby will love it...and you won't regret it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart Training cup! My ten month old (at the time) gravitated to this cup immediately. This was the first cup we gave to him to begin training him to drink from a regular cup. He handled it perfectly and used it correctly the very first time. I like the handles on the cup but, getting the nipple lined up correctly on the other side takes a few minutes. I also like that the cup is clear. This makes it easy for me to see what's inside. The nipple is soft, similar to the texture of a nipple on a baby bottle. It has the shape of a spout though so it's different from a bottle nipple. I had no complaints about this product. My son likes it and he drinks from the cup easily. I would love to have this trainer cup in a bigger size. I would recommend this product to anyone training a small child to drink from a cup. It's a no brainer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and a great training cup! This trainer cup is nicely made and definitely serves its purpose! My little guy is 8.5 months old and we are just starting to work on sippy cups. I have a couple with a bottle type mouth piece, but it's a harder plastic than this one. This cup comes with 2 mouth pieces… One is similar to a bottle nipple and the other to a sippy cup but these are nice soft plastic. This cup was the first one my baby actually liked and would drink out of! We only used the nipple similar to a sippy cup, but he drank well from it even being inexperienced. He likes to chew on it too which is beside the point haha. This cup seems higher quality than most sippy cups I've used. The handles seems comfortable but my husband wishes they would extend further outwards to help our 8 month old hold on better... He ending up using one handle and holding the bottom of the cup with his other hand. All parts can be boiled to sterilize or be sterilized by other means which is great because I can just throw all the pieces in a sterilizing bag and put it in the microwave! The one negative I have is when I put the sippy cup nipple inside the lid it seems tight but when I screw the lid into the bottle it turns! So if I put the nipple on the way I would want it to face it turns when I screw the lid on. So I had to put the mouth piece pointing towards the handle so when I screwed the lid on it twisted to the location it should be (in between the handles). Overall my baby really likes this and so do I! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Great Grand Daughter LOVED IT, did not take her long to find out she could control it and did not need the nipple at all. Would recommend this to all your little ones. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cup for all ages The greatest aspect about Philips AVENT 5 Ounce Natural Trainer Cup is that when it falls over, its liquid contents don't spill when the cup falls over or gets dropped on the floor. Nothing can fall into the cup, either, with its domed lid--no dust, insects, or other debris. It's interesting that Philips, a company known for its electronics, decided to design a trainer cup. As an old man with an old companion, we know all too well the problems of dropping a glass, or dribbling while we drink, as our hands shake and our lips don't work quite as well as they used to. I thought it might be useful to have a sippy cup of some sort to prevent these things from happening. The Philips AVENT doesn't disappoint. With a soft handle on either side, a secure dome top, and two different sucking devices, the range of use is endless. One doesn't have to use a nipple to drink from the cup, however; I prefer to wait on using that until I'm too old to sip anymore. And, with the cup only being five ounces when filled, I can be sure I won't take in so much that I have to race to the bathroom after I have a drink of water. I recommend the AVENT for anyone who has trouble drinking out of a regular cup--children, the handicapped, or old folks like me. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Diaper Bag Friendly The training cup looks like a big round bottle with handles making it easy for little hands to hold. It comes with a bottle nipple and a soft Sippy cup insert. The handle is actually the top part of the cup where the inserts go so as long as the child is holding it, he or she can't unscrew it. Since the cup never changes only the insert it makes transitioning from bottle to cup a lot easier. First off the nipple is very natural shaped and she wasn't used to that at all and it took some time for her to get used to it. Since we are switching slowly from a bottle to the cup, we used the nipple for a few days and then switched to the training lid. She refused to drink out of it, so we tried again a few days later and she was fine. She didn't even care. She just took the cup and started drinking out of it. After so many times of hit and miss cups this one was surprisingly easy to swap out. Although I like the trainer cup it isn't perfect. The size and shape (giganticly round) are not made for use a regular diaper bag. It doesn't fit comfortably in any of the pockets so you either put it on the inside where spillage is possible or in my case immediate burial after a few dips into the bag for other things. It is more than likely that if the cup was less wide and more long it would be a better fit. So far the handle is it's only saving grace for it because it's the only way to attach it to the stroller straps. So its kind of hit and miss. Good for cup training but unfortunately not diaper bag friendly. Once I get her used to drinking out of a cup I'm going to switch to another cup that's more user friendly with a smaller insert because this insert is too much like a bottle nipple.
