I like to spice up this oatmeal cookie mix with butterscotch chips or toffee chunks in the winter for holiday parties! Everyone just assumes that I made them from scratch and that I am a rockstar! Thanks for making my hectic life easier during holidays!

These Betty Crocker Oatmeal cookies are fantastic! I made them for the first time today and they won't be my last. Quick, easy and good, too.I am picky, I don't like pre-made dairy case cookie dough from the supermarket, nor most cookies that are baked in the supermaket bakery and honestly, I don't love a lot of peoples real homemade cookies. I was skeptical of these Betty Crocker ones before I read the ingredients. These contain only real ingredients that I have in my pantry. Since these are pre-measured it cuts down on prep and clean-up time. Just add a stick of butter, one tablespoon water and an egg.I did fancy-up these cookies a bit. I studded them with dried cranberries (1/4-1/3 cup) and I made 18 large cookies (2-tbps each). I also used room temperature butter and room temperature egg that I beat together with an electric hand mixer. I find microwave softened butter has never worked well for me in the past and the mixer is a personal preference. Next time I'm going to sub orange juice for the water in the receipe and have cran-orange oatmeal cookies.One last tip I'll point out for anyone out there that isn't a big baker, if you want thin, crispy cookies bake straight from mixing, pressing each cookie every so slightly before baking. If you want softer, thicker cookies refrigerate for 15-minutes before baking and do not flatten.Thanks, for the great cookies Betty! I'll be sure to share them with everyone I know.

My Wife, and her 2 Maltese pups, loves them. 
How i cook them for her.

1. Heat oven as directed, I use 350 on an electric oven, 2nd from top rack position.
2. 1 Egg Beaten.
3. 1 Stick (1/2 Cup) Butter, * Softened** (Not Melted)IMPORTANT!!! (Margarine or Spread...NEVER)
4. I Do Not add the tablespoon of water and have plenty of moisture in my Cookie.
5. Mix completly, Do Not allow clots of Butter to remain.
6. 14 x 16 aluminum baking sheet with a Parchment paper cut to size.
7. I roll the cookies into balls that create 29-32 spread over two cookie sheets, shoot for 16 per cookie sheet.
8. Cook for 8 Minutes, works in my Oven, but you may have to adjust for yours.            
   ***You are looking for a Golden Brown Bottom on your cookie.***
9. Cool for at least 8 Minutes so they set well.

These cookies are oh-so-easy, as well as oh-so-tasty! I've not done this before, but, tonight I added some ingredients. i added raisins, a little cinnamon and sugar and brown sugar. They were fantastic. THEN on last batch, I added crumbled, frozen Reese's.......THE BEST!!

I love the Betty Crocker cookie mix, especially the oatmeal. When i make them at home, i usually add chocolate chips or butterscotch chips to add a little more to the cookie. The cookie mix tastes great and it makes making cookies so much easier. They are really nice when the little kids wants to help. Helps make it less messy but still gooey delicious. 

I recently made a bunch of cookies from this brand back around Christmas and these taste so good and are so easy to make. They store well in Tupperware and didn't dry out or become hard. Will definitely buy again.

Great cookie mix, love it. Additional ingredients suggestion. Add  ⅓ cup of shredded coconut, ⅓ cup coarsely chopped pecans, 15 drops of maple extract. Takes this mix to the next level...

Additional Ingredients to an already great mixture

Just recently used this and they tasted really good, I did however add cinnamon to the batter. Also the time on the packaging is very accurate. If you need to make cookies fast this is it.

These oatmeal cookies in a pouch by Betty Crocker are so bland and not sweet enough. I had to add sugar to the second batch just to make them taste like cookies! As mumsey102 says below: tasteless!

These cookies have absolutely no flavor when prepared as instructed and straight out of the package. They're pretty, they spread nicely, however fall short where it matters most.
It takes effort to doctor them up to have flavor and taste like homemade oatmeal cookies. You know they are bad when children ask you not to make "those package cookies anymore."  I'll go back to using my time consuming homemade recipe with Quaker oats. It takes longer, but at least  dozens of cookies won't be thrown away.
