I received this vacuum free for testing purposes and was pleasantly surprised. I have an expensive vacuum already and this one seemed to pick up more than even the other one I have. It is very light weight and easy to use. I also used it in my car and I did a better job at cleaning my black carpet than the car wash did. Very impressive for the money I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

This is the best vacuum I've ever had! I love that it is so light weight and the clean up is very easy and convienent. The fact that I can switch the levels from high to low based on if I am doing long carpeted room or a tiled floor is amazing and very helpful. The tools that come with it are great too, makes small corners or furniture clean ups easy and convienent as well. I would only suggest one thing and that is to have a longer cord.

Best vacuum I've ever had

I was so pleasantly surprised by this vacuum. My old vacuum (with the vacuum bags) burnt out on me. When I went shopping for a new vacuum, I was wary about these new filter-with-plastic-bin vacuums. However, the bag vacuums became so expensive, so I gave this model a try. I couldn't believe what a great value it is. It has much superior suction to my old vacuum, is lighter, has a longer cord, and looks so much better from a style standpoint. (You don't have to hide this one in your basement!) I highly recommend this model. You won't be disappointed!

Great suction, array of useful tools, for incredible price

I can't say enough good about this product. I bought it when my huge Bissell wouldn't keep a belt on. My son bought this model and I used it and was delighted. It's lightweight, easy to push, great pick up, and the price is terrific. I would by this vacuum again if I need another and recommend this product to those looking for quality and a good price.

Great vacumme

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use it mostly on my carpet and it has picked up every hair and lint that was on it. I don't have a pet yet but I'm looking forward to using it when i do. The assembly was easy and quick. its a great vacuum for its price.

So far So good

The Bissell Powerforce Helix 1700 is an amazing value. It is extremely easy to assemble and far exceeded my expectations on my carpet and bare floors. The edge to edge cleaning system picked up dirt along the baseboards perfectly. The dirt tank is easy to remove and clean and a washable filter is another value. I wish the hose and cord were a little longer and the motor was a little quieter but for the cleaning power of the suction with this machine I can live with the noise. This vacuum cleaner can hold it's own with any vacuum cleaner on the market today and will not disappoint.

Outstanding Value

Only used this a few times but thus far is as listed. Very good suction power and works well on both wood flooring and carpet. This is definitely a bargain in the low-end price range. The major problems are - 1. Cheap look and feel. 2. The height adjuster does not change levels and makes going from floor to carpet a problem plus the height is set very low and not adjustable for carpet making it hard to maneuver. 3. The Hose for the attachment and power cord are very short and makes them rather difficult to use. This is not your top of the line machine but is still a great vacuum. This sweeper with a few improvements could be even better sweeper for still under $100 and an excellent bargain.

Great for the price

Can't believe the suction from this machine, I thought my other vacuum was doing a great job, since you can see the dirt in the canister, this was not the case at all. WOW! It's very lightweight which feels kinda cheap. The power cord is too short, it also needs a slot to hook into near top of vacuum-so as not to constantly move it out of the way when vacuuming. The hose is kinda bulky sticking out the back which also prevents it from lowering closer to the floor when vacuuming under things, also the canister is kinda big in that respect also. Very easy to put together. Extremely simple to empty canister. Wish it was a little wider. Not as noisy as my old vacuum. Overall a great vacuum for the price being sold in stores.

Surprisingly Powerful Machine

This is third one we have purchased. Prior two had extension tube for hand vacuuming. We assumed this one had it as well. This vacuum makes it very difficult to hand vacuum as you have to bend almost to floor level. Very disappointed it was not included.

Love vacuum but disappointed in accessories; no extension

I bought this vacuum, hoping that it would be great for my home with my pets, but only after a month, it broke this vacuum was not worth my money.
