Description & Features+

The Black Eyed Peas make effective pop/crossover music, but they aren't content to be disposable pop stars; they also want to write anthemic, vital songs that speak for a new generation. And so comes The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies). For every hyper-sexualized, by-the-numbers track like the hit single "Boom Boom Pow," there are message songs like "Now Generation," which begins, in cheerleader fashion, with the lines: "We are the now generation! We are the generation now!/This is the now generation! This is the generation now!" Led by's production, which is continually the best thing about the album, the Black Eyed Peas move even farther away from hip-hop into the type of inspirational dance-pop that has become ripe for advertisements and marketing opportunities, including "I Gotta Feeling" ("I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night") and "Party All Night" ("If we could party all night and sleep all day, and throw all of our problems away, my life would be ea-say"). Granted, there's nothing here as embarrassing as "My Humps," and the production is a shade better than previous material from the group or Fergie solo (although still not as good as solo ventures), but The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) becomes a mess of pop/dance/rap crossover. ~ John Bush, Rovi

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best BEP Album! The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) definitely lives up to its name. The Black Eyed Peas are back with their greatest album yet, in my opinion. This album is all about having fun, dancing, and showing us that the Black Eyed Peas’ energy never dies which makes it my favorite album of the year (so far). They aren’t afraid to be different, but different in the best possible. With a catchy chorus and sick beat with most of the songs, you can’t help but get up and dance and sing along. Listen to the lyrics to the songs; they are about having fun. For example, “Boom Boom Pow” has nothing bad in it, but instead it’s talking about the beat of a song (and to have fun with it). “Party All The Time” is just about having fun and being you. “I Gotta Feeling”, my favorite song on this album, is one of those songs that makes you smile, it puts you in a better mood. It’s about having a good time, as most of these songs are. “Missing You” is probably my second favorite. It’s about love, but I love the sound of it. This one is no typical love song. It has that futuristic, electronic beat to it. I’m not going through every song on this album. Just trust me, buy this album. The E.N.D. will definitely catch your interest, get you dancing, and have you singing along. The Black Eyed Peas don’t lie when they say “The Energy Never Dies.”

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Some bad words, but Great tunes! This is a great CD! Yeah it has some bad words in some of these and I Wish they would have not put them in there. However I loved the rhythem of the music, so I still give it 5 stars. Some will get on the radio later, and will be edited, I am sure. However this is not for little kids.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the end This is quite possibly the most atrocious excuse for hip hop being produced today. This is about as creative as wearing your hat backwards. The beats and lyrics are unimaginative and tired garbage wrapped (no pun intended) in a slick advertising campaign which perpetuates mediocrity. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this.
