Ratings & Reviews+

blackweb Lightning Dock Premium Clock Radio with Docking Capability is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy, bad design and every one is defective! I'm just going to list all of the things wrong with this item, but before that say that I suspect that the entire design is flawed and that no matter which of these you buy it'll have the same defects others and myself have seen. 1. The lightning plug is positioned oddly and won't fit a phone with a case on it (any case), even with an extension 2. The clock/alarm settings are only done via the remote, including shutting off the alarm and snooze (so without the remote you have to unplug the whole thing to shut it off, which then loses ALL of the settings). 3. Despite it being the Black Web brand, it's actually a WalMart brand. There is no support for this at all, no website for the manufacturer, no phone number to call. The warranty is for 1 year, but it states that if you have any issues you need to go back to a store with the original packaging and original receipt to get a replacement or your money back. 4. Biggest flaw and the one I suspect breaks it for everybody, if you use any of the music features including the radio and dock, it breaks the clock completely. I bought two of these for Christmas presents, and in both cases I set the clock correctly, then turned on the radio, and within 30 seconds to a minute the clock had moved back a full hour. There's no Daylight Savings setting here, and it didn't matter what time I set it to first, just that it always moved back an hour. Other reviewers on walmart.ca and walmart.com noticed the same thing or that the clock seems to "pause" and not track properly when the functions are in use. Due to numbers 3 and 4 above we returned both of the ones we purchased and got new ones elsewhere (only because there wasn't anything in WalMart at the time). Overall the physical design and look of the dock is decent, but the functionality is seriously messed up and I suspect it's something wrong with the whole line, something that will make me stay away from the WalMart "Black Web" brand from now on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from BEST ALARM FOR CHEAP! I bought this and it works great. Don't read the other review because he complains about small things that don't matter. Its alarm clock not a computer. It works great with ipod and has controls on the alarm.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Need remote to use alarm and no snooze button I will be returning this unit to the store because there is no snooze button and you need to use the remote to use the alarm functions.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't lose your remote I was getting tired of my phone dying overnight and not waking me up in time so I thought I'd buy an alarm clock. I had an iHome a few years ago and figured I'd shop around for something similar. When I saw this at my local Walmart I figured it was close enough and bought it. As a device that tells time, it's great. As a radio and iPod player, sure (though the iPod seems to easily wobble when it's docked). I took a chance on this one because I startle easily and needed a gentle alarm to wake up in the morning, and thankfully it does that. The alarm starts off with gentle beeping that gradually get louder as time goes on. My main problem is very little can be done on the alarm clock itself, it's basically controlled using a tiny remote that the clock comes with. Setting the two alarms can be a pain, because it can only be done using the remotes. There isn't a weekend-weekday option either, which is why I wanted the two alarms in the first place. The manual states that you have to stop the alarm by pressing the alarm button on the remote. Many mornings were spent fumbling in the dark, dropping the tiny remote under the bed to stop the alarm before it woke up my partner. That being said, the alarm can be turned off by pressing any of the buttons on the top of the clock, but be warned, they're all small and close to together, one is the radio, and one is the iPod so you have the chance of turning either of those on when you're attempting to stop the alarm. If the clock had more functionality on the clock itself, say if it had a snooze button or a big "stop alarm" button, I'd be inclined to give it more points. The tiny remote with a bunch of buttons shouldn't be what you have to play around with when you're have awake and sleep deprived. As a student I try to get the most of my money and I'm pretty disappointed. I'm taking it back for something that's worth the price.
