Nice toy for the price, stable sturdy, fluffy. Nice sound effects. the scarf on the horse is a bit cheaply made. The main and tail are a bit rough. The rocking "bows" to the base are a bit crude and can squeeze the child's feet if the toes go under and you are not careful. some others may have safety features to prevent this. The packaging for this was HORRIBLE - dirty carboard box, seemed used/returned/battered. Could do better on packaging. One washer was missing from the product.

I bought this rocking horse for my toddler to replace his old one that was manufactured in 2010 by a company that no longer exists. Since I had no way of knowing for sure whether or not the old rocking horse contained flame retardants, I played it safe and replaced it. This new one makes the same noises as the old one, but some differences (which would explain the lower price) are the absence of a head moving mechanism, simple unfinished wood arches, and the overall shape of the horse is less curvy (less effort in making it look like a real horse). I also had an issue assembling the arches. They look like they'd fit either way, but they don't. It would have been helpful to have stickers indicating front and back, as I thought for a while that we've received a defective product with holes too small for the hardware. My toddler didn't seem to mind any of this and was still happy with his new horse!
