Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent camera and a good value tl;dr: Great zoom feature, easy to use, fun photo-enhancement features, can send pics to your phone, directly to Facebook/Instagram/etc., good battery life. If you want to print photos right to your printer from this camera, your printer has to support PictBridge, which mine doesn't. I discovered the PictBridge thing after the camera failed to find the printer on my home network just like everyone else. But if those other reviewers were having such difficulties with connectivity, why didn't they just take out the camera's SD card and pop it into their computer instead of spending days trying to get the connectivity to work?? I'm just saying. Anyway, I find that the camera is slim and small and easy to slip in a pocket. In fact, even though I have regular-sized hands for a woman, the camera would be easier to hold if it were a little bigger. I LOVE the magnitude of the zoom feature. I am a birder, and even though this isn't a camera for serious birding, I find I can zoom wayyyy up on faraway things, quite to my satisfaction. It's easy to get to the SD card and battery (they're in the same compartment), and to remove and insert them. You can automatically apply Instagram-like filters to create multiple versions of your photo as you take it, and if you press and hold the shutter release, it takes rapid-fire pics. You can force it to focus where you want by pressing the shutter release partway, though I have had some trouble focusing through window screens. It's simple to view the file size and the resolution of a photo. I like the customizability it and the options are plenty, including tips and power-saving modes. Even while making long videos with the power-saving features off, the battery life is surprisingly long. It's easy to review the photos you've taken, and the zoom feature in that mode works to change how many photos you can see on the screen at once, so you can zoom out and quickly scroll through a lot of photos. Kinda wish it were a touch screen though. I like how you can tell it to look for similar images, take still photos while you're also shooting a video, and take macro (super close-up) pictures, and of course it also does slideshows, image rotation, file locking, favorites and that kind of thing. It doesn't come with a case, but the upside of that is you get to choose the exact kind you want. All in all, an excellent choice for a pocket camera that's still a basic camera as cameras go, but a significant step up from your phone in terms of its features, its image quality, and its zoooooom function.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent, handy, easy to use with phone & PC Bought this in a rush prior to a trip. I use this where a DSLR is going to be too bulky, but where I would need the reach and versatility of DSLR lenses that a smartphone won't suffice. - It is very pocketable. - Battery life is good. - Image quality is excellent. - Zoom, operation are straightforward - Windows 10 PC and Android phone interface are easy The Android (marshmallow) app was a breeze to download and setup, which I used to clear photos off the camera/Card and upload them to the cloud. The PC link, using a vanilla mini-USB cable (not included), is automatic with a Windows 10 PC. In good light, taking the highest res pictures, it works well and the zoom is quite capable. Not quite as good as my DSLRs, but not far behind. HD video is nice, as well. Image stabilization is capable. Low light performance does introduce noise, but generally pretty good. My only wish is that it captured RAW files, which would make it more useful for post-processing (some smartphones do this). I'd appreciate a firmware update that enabled this. If this were the case it would be an near perfect pocketable bridge camera.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Include all parts!! This camera is nice--compact size with many features, likely more than many people may even use, and a good zoom, especially for its size. My big complaint is that no cable is provided which is necessary to transfer images to one's computer if not using a Wi-Fi connection. This requires hunting down the appropriate cable not available in the same store or purchasing an accessory pack with unneeded items. Include the appropriate cable with the camera at time of purchase, even if it means raising the price a couple dollars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon PowerShot SX610 HS Digital Camera My first impression of this camera has been good so far. Basic pictures and video have been easy to use and look good. For a simple point and shoot it is worth the money. It has an excellent zoom but I tend to wiggle and need to put it on a tripod when shooting with the full zoom on. It can do a lot more and it will take time for me to find out the full far so good.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK A little disappointed with this camera. I have owned two Elph cameras in a row. The 610 is easy to use and has all the right features, however picture quality up close and at a distance leave something to be desired. Shot response time is slow and often results in a blurry picture. I have rated this camera as only OK. Going back to my ELPH until Canon comes up with a better pocket unit. I may have made a bad choice for my applications.
