It works well but It leans back a little bit which makes me nervous. Have to really watch your kid to make sure they arent leaning too much. Other than that it worked great.

we brought this trail gator after owning a trailer, Our 3 year old was getting board back there in the trailer and yet she couldn't ride her small bike yet by herself. So we purchased this and after about 3 rides she's now pedaling and helping us along the rides! Its great and we highly recommend it for the 3-4-5 year olds

We love this for beginner riders

I thought I would have to get a child's tandem bike to attach to mine, but I am glad I found this bar. It FITS HUFFY'S abnormally shaped child bike frame. I have to store our bikes inside our upstairs apartment, and the bar does not take up additional space during storage. Use a tape measure to make sure the child's front wheel is the 3 inches above ground that the instructions say. Once installed, the product is easy to use. Get a kick stand installed on both bikes or have them stand at an angle when attached but no one is riding. It collapses inside itself and attaches to the side of the adult's bike for storage. I got it because my child rides slow; now I know she is right behind me.

Space Saver

An excellent way to bring along the little one on tough terrain. Its a bit complicated to assemble so you will have to follow the witten directions closely and have good instinct on how it supposed to work. Great quality and craftsmanship. Unlike a true 2nd seat bike that sports a single frame, this attachment makes the bike tough to maneuver but it gets the job done well. I especially liked the fact that i can ride somewhere, disconnect the smaller bike, let them ride, reconnect ,and drag them back. It works perfectly.

Trail Gator

This tandem bar is great. My son loves it, and it is so easy to use. We have it on his little 12" Bicycle now, but I plan to transfer it to his next bike as he grows. All the kids in the neighborhood have wanted a ride. We call it the bicycle train! It is also easy to remove when he or I want to ride on our own or reconnect when we want to go again.

Awesome

Works great right now. It is hooked up to a 12" bike and front wheel doesn't touch the ground. Couldn't get the wheel holder to work. But doesn't matter now and my child loves riding on the real road with mommie! Later on a bigger bike, it may not work so hot if the front wheel isn't stable!

Great Now, But maybe not later

The concept and overall product is great. It allowed us to use our son's existing bike and go on bike rides that would be too long for him, but now he can ride some, then hook up when he get's tired. Our family loves it.

The only downsides are the instructions are a difficult to follow and it's a little challenging to get everything lined up so the back bike pulls straight.

I would recommend it to to anyone who likes long rides that have a young child.

Glad we bought

It is wonderful and everything I was looking for. It's so easy to assemble and I love that I can detach my sons bike and let him ride alone whenever he wants. The only downside that I've found so far, and it has nothing to do with the product, is when my son decides to step on his breaks when I'm not prepared for it. It doesn't stop us completely, but it definitely slows me down. I've recommended this product to all my friends. Everyone on the bike trail with younger children are always commenting on it and asking me where to buy it. It's a great product for the $.

First the product works as described as long as you take your time putting it together. I'm very mechanically inclined and it took me 3 hrs to put this together. Most of that time was spent trying to keep everything lined up (a bit of a pain in the butt by yourself but do-able). Whatever you do DO NOT USE THEIR TORQUE SPECS!!! I used their torque specs and crushed the seat post on my wife's bike and the front main shaft of my sons bike. Now when my son rides his bike by himself its really hard for him to turn the handlebars. They also state this is a quick connect not really.  There is nothing quick about attaching  and detaching the two bikes; it's attached with a series of quick connectors (like used for axles and seats however you have to completely unscrew and re-screw the things every time you want to let the kid ride on his own. With that being said I guess its quicker than grabbing to wrenches...but not by much.

Do not use their torque specifications.

This probably works better for older kids but when i took my 4 year old on it i would almost fly over my handle bars every time he put on the breaks. Didn't think about that when i bought it. The adult in front obviously has no control over the back so they can stop whenever they want making it harder to peddle especially too if they're riding the breaks. The plus side of this product would be that you can detach the bike when you get where you're going. We never got there though because he kept breaking on me..lol
