I love Clairol Born Blonde permanent hair dye!  It's super easy to use! Not only is it easy to use, it does a fabulous job dyeing my hair! The conditioner that comes with it, makes your hair feel soft and refreshed! Instead of thinking I just dyed my hair, you feel like I just got a hair conditioning done at the salon! It's a awesome product! I would absolutely recommend it to a friend who needs a Fabulous New look!

It works!

While this color turned out more caramel than blonde, I was happy with the results and before I told a hair instructor what I did, he approached me to say, 'I LOVE your hair color.' I have brown hair naturally with underlying natural red undertones so it's no surprise. I had used Revlon dark brown (darker than I usually do) before highlighting. I did one side then then other  and although I can't tell much difference, next time I will alternate sides so the timing is more equal.  For 1st time home highlighting, I'm impressed with myself and the product.

It depends on your hair I guess.  It will lighten the hair several levels but the color I got was nothing close to the color shown.  I started with medium brown and got a neon looking orangy hue. The hair didn't feel damaged or brittle but I had to get another color to cover it up.   I guess you can try to take a gamble with it because it will lighten I just didn't like how mine came out.

I have used Clairol Born Blonde since I was 14 years old, I am now 30 years old and I will NOT use Clairol anymore. I already have dark blonde hair, and I used Born Blonde as I wanted the platinum color. This bleaching kit was my go to product and in the past I was always more than happy with the results, until now. I don't know if Clairol is using new ingredients, or if they are using inferior ingredients. But, I have noticed a significant change in the outcome of my hair after using this product lately. For the past three treatments, my hair has felt more brittle, I have noticed more breakage, and the color is brassy and yellow even after using a toner. In the past when I would color my hair with Clairol, I loved how this product would make it a bright blonde color without being too white or too yellow, I'm not sure why things have changed. However, since Clairol has changed their ingredients, I will no longer recommend them, nor will I use this product any longer. It is saddening that after 16 years of loyalty to this product, I am forced to look elsewhere for a better product as Born Blonde is not giving me the same results as it used to in the past. Do better Clairol, you have lost a great customer that has been loyal to you for 16 years, as your product is clearly not of good quality anymore. Please do better!

Loss of a Loyal Customer

The according to the box after applying color wash with blue shampoo so it isn’t brassy.  I used the blue shampoo and blue conditioner and blue drops to remove brassy but nothing worked. I look like a Pumpkin. I am so upset!!  Now I need to add another color and dry out my hair. Buyer beware don’t believe their advertising on this box. I wish I could attach a picture of my hair. Shame on you. I have a wedding to attend 😭😭😭. Will never buy your brand again!!  I am a pumpkin 🎃🎃🎃

Disaster

The reason I wouldn't recommend it is because when i mixed the product. It turned a bright blue. I had to call Clairol to see if it was safe to use. They told me not to use it. They offered me a digital coupon, but it didn't come through. I didn't use the product so I don't really know if it works or how well it works. My review is based solely on the fact that the product wasn't safe to use in the condition it was in when I opened it.
