This pistol looks even better when it is out of the packaging. It has a great feel in the hand and weighs very similar to a real pistol. The accuracy is very good and easy to hold on target. Using a two hand hold and firing as fast as possible, it is still easy to hold on target. It is quite powerful for a BB pistol and I have been getting about one hundred good shots per co2 cartridge. The trigger pull is rather long, but after you get used to it, you can adapt quite well. This is truly money well spent!

this does look like a real 45 with 3 and 1/2 inch barrel.Shoots straight,plenty of power for a co2.Even though the package says in shoots 177 pellets,I dont that anywhere,just a feeder for 18 BB's at a time.I like it,good plinker.Made a tin can jump all over the yard,the ends were all that was left,and I still had gas left,must of shot 4 clips full.

looks Like the Real One

This Colt Defender replica .177 Cal/4.5mm BB Gun met every single expectation I had for it! It's nice and compact and made out of metal. It's a double action pistol and the only moving parts on the gun is the grip that slides back to load, the trigger and the barrel sticks out a bit when you shoot. The Walmart site states that this gun shoots 440 fps, but the box says 410, but the real world fps is more likely around 430, 440. I haven't been able to test it on a chrony though, but I have compared it to my other CO2 guns that shoot 430 fps and the Colt Defenders penetrated deeper than the pellets from my Crosman 357. Overall I really like this gun, it's really good quality for this low price. This one that I bought was a birthday present and my brother inlaw who I gave it to, really liked it and so did I. I might end up buying my own one day soon.

Great bb gun with a good ammount of power

I've owned numerous guns in my life from "shoot your eye out" long rifle BB guns, to regulation M14's with chrome bayonets. A good, "shoots straight" BB gun that self loads is hard to find. This is one. I bought it for varmints in the yard and I can hit them square every time. Excellent quality. Just ask the Varmints!

The manufacturer lived up to the name , Colt.

I am very happy I get this one. It work very well for me, because I am a beginner and do
not want a real gun. But I wanted something to get me started. So think you for this
pistol. It fits the need.

Co2 Pistol great for me.

I bought the Pellets and am having trouble with them. therefore I would recommend
the BB's instead. I used to have a Top loader that worked very well with pellets so I am
going to have to get BB's for this and a new Gun for my Pellets.

Looks Great and works fantastic.

Nice weight, balance, good training tool for the real thing, accurate to 50+ feet, I have left a CO2 cartridge in for 3 days and it still hit as hard on the third as the first. Good Value for the price

Good Value

The pistol shoots as promised and decently, but there are a couple of drawbacks. First the loading of the pellets is a little bit tricky at first and I'm not too wild about the flimsy spring assist. Next if you read the directions you cannot keep this pistol primed with CO2 unless you are using it, because the manufacturer says the seals will rapidly degrade. This causes an issue if you are varmint hunting because you have to pierce the CO2 cartridge you get a hiss and this will alert them. The plunger used to push the CO2 cartridge into place is at an awkward angle under the grip and takes a second to screw it into place. As far as bare bones essentials its worth it maybe take 5 or 10 dollars of the price. It was easy to order through walmart.com so that's a plus.

Its alright....

Having read all of the reviews of this pistol, I had somewhat high expectations regarding it's performance. I am somewhat disappointed in it power and accuracy. I have several other C02 pistols with stated specs close to this one but this one doesn't even come close in power. I would guess it to be more near the 300 FPS range, not over 400. It is fairly easy to load both the C02 and BB's and the quality seems good. The feel is great, it does have a similar feel to the real thing. The finish is very good, so hopefully it will last...time will tell. For the price, it's a good deal and well worth it. Just don't expect blazing speed or accuracy.

OK for the price

The Colt Defender CO2 BB pistol initially looked like a great training pistol for the money. I also wanted it to use as a marksmanship instructional tool for my 9 year old. The pistol looks and feels like a real colt compact 1911. The plastic grip that houses the CO2 is very flimsy and loose on the frame. It actually fell off on me several times in the two days that I owned this pistol. There is a design flaw in the trigger mechanism of this pistol. If you stage the trigger or squeeze it slowly as you would a regular firearm, the pistol releases and fires two bbs at once. If you do this and point the muzzle downward at even the slightest angle, the bbs roll out of the end of the barrel. I returned the first pistol because of this problem and got a replacement. Second pistol had the same problem, returned this one for my money back. Not worth it. It did shoot accurately when it did function properly and it did sparingly use CO2.
