Compact, inexpensive and works great. The instructions are a must to follow to get the grind you are looking for. Medium grind: run grind for 20 seconds. When complete, this will be the right amount of coffee to brew 5 cups in the Cuisinart 5 cup coffee maker.

Great Grinder

The new appliance replaced an older Cuisinart grinder that stopped working after several years of near once-a-day use.  This unit is smaller than the previous one, which was already smaller than the one before.  It's great to see these appliances become more compact while still performing well, and perhaps better and more longer lasting than older models. I'm fully expect this unit to have a long life.

Useful compact grinder

This little coffee grinder is very reliable, simple to use, and gets the job done. It's easy to grind coarse or fine just by simply changing how long you hold down the button. Cleaning it quite easy as well since the grinds come out without much effort. The grinder is small enough to be tucked away in a cabinet when not in use. I would definitely recommend this.

Great Coffee Grinder

Have had this coffee bean grinder about one week and so far is a great accessory. I really enjoy have freshly ground coffee for my morning coffee. Just want to add that I have had another Cuisinart appliance that has been very excellent in performance and is still working after 24 years.

Reliable grinder

For the price, this is an excellent coffee grinder. As noted, it is a bit noisy, but that doesn't bother me at all. 

It does a good job of letting you select the level of grind you wish. For me, it is primarily for espresso, and it grinds finally enough to do a good job. The more course setting is also just right for French press coffee.


I've had other grinders that cost more, but didn't work any better, and didn't last very long before giving up the ghost. I suspect this one will do the job for a long time to come, given his quality of construction and the Cuisinart reputation.

Nice coffee grinder at this price point

Grinder works very well! For a simple-to-use, starter grinder, wouldn't recommend any other! Only improvement would be a self-measuring system to get the perfect amount of beans per carafe. Easy to clean, easy to operate and set aside. The cord is not so easy to stow away, but that was not my primary reason for purchasing. Would buy again if this one were ever to fail.

A perfect grinder without the bells or whistles!

After ordering - and returning - an expensive coffee bean grinder, we purchased the Cuisinart.  It fits perfectly with our needs.  I'm able to get the grind level we like for brewing.  The grinder itself is easy to use and clean.  The only item keeping it from a 5-star review is that it is a little messy when transferring from grinder cup to coffee pot or storage container. You have to grind a smaller amount for the ground coffee to stay within the cup provided.

Good little utility tool

The good: Works good for making single cups of coffee. Grinds most consistently if you 'Pulse' the grind button on and off about 5 seconds at a time for 15-20 seconds.

The not so good: There is no real good way to pour the grinds out. The lid does not  secure in any way, so you have to hold the lid on while turning the entire grinder upside down to shake the grinds into the lid. The lid has no spout that would help you pour the grinds into a single cup filter, so getting the grinds where you want them and not all over the kitchen counter is a daily test for a senior like me. A simple pour spout and a latch would have got five stars.

Good grinder, so close to five stars.

With a Cuisinart coffee maker and toaster that are exceptional and long-lasting, I was excited to find a Cuisinart coffee grinder and at a reasonable price. The coffee grinder DOES feel solid and well-made. Turns out the capacity for the beans isn't enough to brew even 8 of the 12-cup capacity of the coffee maker. The grinder basket is too deep to easily clean and cannot be detached from the base for cleaning. The lid comes off too easily so spilling coffee grounds unintentionally is a reality.

Poorly designed, small capacity

Well, I've had this grinder for about 45 days or so.  Have used it maybe 25 times.  This morning, I put beans in and started using as I had in the past.  The grinder struggled to process the beans and eventually stopped working all together.  I unplugged it and googled the situation.  Seemed advisable to let it cool down, so I made a cup from Keurig and began my day.  Then I got a request to offer a review of the Cuisinart grinder and thought: perfect time to share.  Before drafting this review, I tried the grinder one more time to see if 30 minutes to cool would work.  But it didn't.  So, while the grinder was good for its very short life, I'm afraid durability could be an issue.  I will be contacting for a replacement today.
