I saw some negative reviews online, but decided to order on the basis of features, super warranty from Cuisinart, and in-store returns at Walmart. It arrived quickly, but Walmart's repackaging for shipping was shoddy.... it had banged up outer and inner cartons, and barely enough tape left unbroken to get it here. Held my breath when I unpacked the box, but the processor and accessories were fine.
This product is very well made, and the features are as described. Especially like the adjustable slicing blade. I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST, AND ASSEMBLY AND USE WERE EASY TO UNDERSTAND. Just respect those super sharp blades. Handle as instructed.
A tool for cleaning around the top seal was included, and I made something that would get in the seal right away. No problem to clean. Haven't had it happen since. Just top rack of the dishwasher, and it's ready to go.
This purchase is a replacement for a 12 year old Kitchenaid processor. Might have gone with another Kitchenaid, but their warranty indicated to me that they weren't particularly proud of their product.
So glad I got this Cuisinart. It's a sweet machine. And Walmart beat everybody else's price, even with that 20% off coupon.

Excellent Food Processor

I love everything about the food processor except for the shredder. There is a space between the shredder blade and the edge of the bowl, so chunks of unshredded vegetables end up in the bowl with the shredded vegetables. I have to sift through the shredded bits and take out the unshredded chunks.

I bought this about  month ago mainly for chopping and pureeing vegetables for diabetic dog food..  It's pretty good, large capacity.  The grater and slicing plates do not work well with carrots I end up with pieces of carrots stuck on the top of the plates and have to repeat the process several times and even then they don't work..  Would not recommend for carrots.

Good features

We The very first time that we used this food processor, the blade got stuck and wouldn't come off. After trying a lot of on line solutions, we found that ice water worked. The other solution was to put the entire appliance in the freezer overnight. It was frustrating to learn that this is a common issue. Other than that, the processor works well and is of good quality.

Elite collection 14 cup Food Processor

I bought this food processor against my better judgment. I was planning to buy the “basic” 14-cup processor but decided to give this one a try. I'm so glad I did. Its versatility and extra features suit my needs well. I love the storage case and the ability to select different size shreds and slices without needing to buy and store additional discs. It's also beautiful on my counter.

Great food processor!

Versatile, powerful, efficient, quiet, and easy to clean. So happy with our purchase.  Love that the slicing disk comes with adjustable thickness, the double sided grater, the small work bowl, and the feature that keeps the blade from coming out when pouring the work bowl.  However, we are disappointed that this "elite" model doesn't come with or offer the attachment for dicing and miss the option for the slow-pour hole in the smallest feeder tube that allows for even distribution/addition of liquids such as oil.  One would expect an elite model to have or be compatible with all the bells and whistles offered with/for more affordable models.

Fantastic machine - would like dicing attachment

I mostly love my food processor-- it's easy to use and clean, and very efficient-- except for grating/slicing. When you feed the vegetables into the food processor from the top, a pretty thick section can get stuck between the blade and the top, and doesn't get forced through the blade. As far as I know this happens with food processors, but the gap is larger with this one than with past food processors I've had.

Easy to use, except for grating

I wish it were lighter and took up less space, but it does work very well and solves a lot of problems with the older models. It's fast. The additional smaller bowl is great for smaller volumes. The double sided shredder is ingenious- flip to the size shredder rather than having 2 disks. The rounded bowl is easier to get out all the stuff with a spatula. The silicon gasket prevents liquids from leaking.all the parts are dishwasher safe... but there are a lot of parts that take up a lot of real-estate in the dishwasher. The container for the blades is nice, but again, takes up a lot of space.

Great especially if you have a big kitchen.

We got this to replace a 25 year old Cuisinart food processor that was still going strong. I love everything about it, the quiet and powerful motor, the size of the 14 cup containes, the blades, everything, but I do not like the fact that fairly large chunks of food get caught between the shredding blade and the top. Additionally, fairly large pieces of food don't get shred and end up mixed in with the rest of the shredded vegetable. That really happened with my old Cuisinart.

Nearly perfect

I bought my Elite Collection Food processor about 9 months ago, and I am in love with it! I can't believe the power it has! I make a lot of nut-based gluten free energy bars and cookies, and it processes everything without effort. I am used to my previous machines making noises and the motor emitting burning smells when I tried to grind nuts. Not this one! It is really amazing, and I love it! I actually kissed it a few times :)

Powerful little thing!!

I ended up returning this item. I have used Cuisinart Food Processors for over 37 years and am familiar with the technique for making bread dough, which I do regulalry. The manual stated it could handle 5 cups of white flour, but it could not. I would guess maybe 3 cups at best. Any more than that and the machine quickly bogged down and danced all over my counter. The exterior quickly got hot to the point I couldn't even touch it and eventually it shut off. I presently own the Cuisinart DLC-X PLUS 20-cup Food Processor which is no longer manufactured. It easily handles 10 cups of white flour, never bogs down, never gets hot. Why oh why did they stop making that model? I figured a 14-cup machine would easily handle 5 cups of flour. I was disappointed. I pursued interest in this machine because of the clever design for the adjustable blade and how that would minimize storage. I was also interested in it because I know my DLC-X might one day stop working so I wanted to be ready with a replacement. 

Aside from my disappointment, I did like the overall design with the exception of the tiny feed tube which will barely accommodate 1/2 of a small apple. I appreciated the gasket around the lip of the lid to eliminate leakage and the bowl-inside-bowl—that is nice.

I am hoping Cuisinart will some day make a heavy-duty model like they used to as I am loyal to the brand.
