Ratings & Reviews+

Dallas 10' x 12' Vinyl Coated Steel Garden Shed is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shed for the price Reviews all said would take approx 24 hrs to build was not too far off although the instructions said way less than that and that was with 2 people working together. Definately take the time to level the ground and follow the instructions to the letter and all of the predrilled holes will line up. Making sure the frame is completly square is a must for the pieces to line up correctly. Be careful with the pieces as the will bend and dint easily when handling. The roof was the most difficult part to assemble as you could NOT lean on it to reach across to put in screws with out dinging if not very carefull. Only use washer where told to or you will run out. Also only use the 5/8 thick plywood as recommended or the plywood will not fit under the studs at the base of the shed floor. Made this mistake and bought 3/4 and had to cut wedges into the plywood to fit under the studs. Thought thicker would be better but just does not fit. Have not had any rain as of yet to see if it leaks or not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Setup This shed came with easy to follow instructions and the wall panels slid horizontal into the wall braces which made it easy to assemble. The doors glide very well on the tracks and it looks great. Hopefully being vinyl coated it will stand up to the weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great size I bought it a few weeks ago. Took my time building it and sealing all the holes. I really like it for storage and working at the bench I installed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shed at a great price. I just put the shed together yesterday, so my review is on initial impressions and ease of assembly. A friend and I spent just under 8 hours to construct including prep time, donut eating and lunch break (half hour). Overall, the shed went together smoothly and easily. I only had a few problems: 1. Ran out of the vinyl washers; however, I may have used them in places I was not supposed to. I had a tube of silicone on hand (thanks to other reviews I had read), so I used silicone instead of washers on the final screws. There is also an off-chance that the dog absconded with a sheet of washers, so no loss of points here. 2. The instructions for the final gable cap were not 100% clear (or I misread), leading to a pair of bolts to install on the final (third) gable cap that could not be reached even with ladder. I had to climb on the roof to get to them (not recommended!). Certainly the harder way to go, but ultimately my fault (and no loss of points). 3. The foam board for the doors appeared to be short-cut. Not a problem (it still works), but it caused some head-scratching to figure out why the pictures in the instructions did not match the real deal. Not big enough a problem to dock points. The majority of installation could probably be accomplished solo. There are a few bolts on the roof where you really someone inside to attach/hold the bolt nut, as you have to stretch across the roof to place the bolt. Also, assembling the upper parts of the frame and gables really needs two people to be easy due to the length of the parts. If you're imposing on a friend, you could easily assemble the bottom part of the frame and pre-assemble the gables (steps 1-5, I think). You could also skip to the last two steps (20-21) and pre-assemble the doors. With that done, 2 people could probably knock out the frame-out and siding/roof install in 4-5 hours, at a leisurely pace. We did 90% of the work on a pair of small step ladders (the 2-step variety). It's a lot easier to move those around and they give you just enough added height for most of the work, but you will need a full step ladder for some of the roof work, unless you're 8 foot tall (I am not). Overall, I am very, very satisfied with quality and ease of installation. Pre-drilled holes all lined up nearly perfectly - make sure you have a LEVEL surface to install. Plus, the Walmart price was $100 cheaper than anywhere else I could find, even after tax and shipping. Which reminds me - curbside delivery. Be prepared to have some help moving the 300 lb delivery (plus pallet), or you will have to do what I did, which was open the box on my front lawn and haul the contents in smaller trips. I chose this model largely due to high wall height. I am 5' 10", and I can walk easily inside to the walls without bumping my head. Expect to duck if you're over 6 foot though.
