Water

[Employee of walmartcanada] I needed a dehumidifer for a room and while shopping I've read many unfavourable reviews on many other dehumidifiers online e.g. either they don't dehumidify or they're noisy etc. Unfortunately this dehumidifier doesn't have many reviews on Walmart ca so I had to rely on the reviews I found on other websites e.g. HomeDepot etc. I couldn't be happier with the purchase! Within half an hour it went from 78 to less than 50, and there was a decent amount of water. The only thing is tha I forgot they also produce heat. So I can't run it for long during summer but pretty sure it will be very handy in the fall. Thank you, Danby!

A Dehumidifer that... dehumidifies

[Employee of walmartcanada] Great product! Pulls about 2 quarts a day In our 1800 sq ft home even with our built in Nu- air system running. Easy to operate.  Came quickly.  Definitely recommend.

I'm very happy with the dehumidifier. It seems to be doing a very good job, it's easy to empty the water bucket and the prioce was certainly right. The only minor quibble I have is the noise it makes while running, but that's not a huge deal. Overall, I'm definitely satisfieds with our purchase.

The tank is small after all. Must empty every day. A little noisy. Do the job I bought it for.

It works well but to lower or raise the humidity, we see nothing on the screen then impossible to see the requested rate

Operation

It is a nice unit but I am disppointed with its performance.  My basement is 1,000 feet and the Danby is rated for 1500 square feet.  However, it is running constantly which suggests that its rating is inflated.

Disappointing

I bought this dehumidifier 15 months ago and noticed that there was a mold-like smell coming out of the machine.  When I bought the unit I decided to buy a 2 year extended warranty because my first Danby dehumidifer only lasted 22 months.  Because of the pandemic Danby you can only communicate by email to Danby.  I have emailed Danby for advice this summer and this fall - still no answer from them.  I take really good care of the unit so it is not my neglect of the machine that is causing the mold-like smell.  Based on just the aspect of terrible customer service and my second unit not lasting as long as the first one I bought, I do not recommend this dehumidifier at all.
