Damp and dingy rooms are a thing of the past with this robust 50-pint (23.7 litre) dehumidifier as it’s designed to eliminate the most problematic humidity issues in your home or office. This Energy Star-compliant unit extracts up to 50 pints of excessive moisture every 24 hours from spaces up to approximately 3,000 square feet in size. It features an automatic-sensing humidity control system and a user-friendly electronic digital keypad with LED display and a handy remote control unit. This model’s smart compressor and direct-drain system will operate the quiet two-speed fan until the desired humidity setting is reached. However, the low-temperature feature makes sure it won’t fall lower than 5°C (41°F). The R410A refrigerant is ozone-friendly and the automatic restart function will turn the appliance back on after a power failure. Ice buildup on the coils is never a problem due to the auto de-icing feature. The portable design enables this tasteful dehumidifier to be moved freely from room to room via the built-in castors and handles and it comes with a solid 24-month warranty on parts and labour.

Great features

I bought this a couple months ago to dry out my damp basement. It was a bit smaller than I had expected. The drain tank was smaller than my old model which turned out to be ok. I connected a piece of garden hose to the unit and ran it straight to my floor drain. The hose that came with it was really of no use. I leave it run 24/7 and it does an excellent job keeping things dry and no more musty basement smell.

Pros: The unit works well and collect moisture quickly. It measures and displays the current humidity percentage. It comes with the hose (for some other brands/models you have to buy the hose separately). Cons: the fan never stops; the unit's only operating mode is continuous. It is powerful and for that reason, it is loud. It is quieter than, say, a window air conditioner but it is louder than my furnace. I also feel that the continuously running fan wastes energy. The noise was a deal breaker and I returned the unit to the store. If the noise is not a concern for you, I certainly recommend this model.
