Bought this recently due to my old DC04 getting tired (still works) and my V8 cordless runtime is too short and not powerful enough for the dog hairs. It is a great lightweight vacuum and has a good suction. Can't comment on the equipment for stairs as I don't have any. My mother is 87 and she finds it easy to use. However, she is fit and healthy for her age.

I have used my hover 3 times now its great suction    easy to empty  but I do feel that the tube  where you hold on to isnt as sturdy as i would like it feels like it will break with some pressure  I hope it won't as ive paid £339.89 for it   but im happy with the suction and movability it has  kind regards Chris owen

Great suction but doesn't feel sturdy

Thought my 15 year old Dyson was the greatest vac I have ever owned (and have owned a few different big brand name vacs) but the Dyson Animal 2 Pro is the bees knees of vacs!So very impressed with every feature,the ease of maneuverability and the power is impressive! Love it!

Great Vacuum!

I was told how good the Dyson name was and as for this vacuum cleaner, well it has made light work of my dirty carpets. Can only highly recommend it and I'm not usually one of these people who review goods purchased. I've also just recently purchased the Vax Platinum Power Max carpet washer. Who needs a new carpet now. After we cleaned the carpet it looked brand new...

The Dyson Ball Animal Two..

I was very fortunate to be given this model to test.Having owned previous models of Dyson hoover,i was interested to see how they could be improved.I have 2 dogs one of which moults considerably,so i was interested to see how the new Animal model picks up the fur.It certainly does...the suction is brilliant on this model.The wand is considerably longer so i can comfortably reach higher areas and i can do the stairs.This model is quieter than my previous model too.My favourite thing about it,is how easy it is to empty the bin.Previously on my old model i still had to get my hand in and extract the pet hair which had stuck around it.Also the ease of putting the bin back onto the machine is far easier than before.All in all i am very pleased with this new machine,as a pet owner i give it my seal of approval.I am also fortunate to have been given this machine to test and to keep it afterwards free of charge...marvellous..thanks so much..

Fabulous upgrade

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Dyson Ball Animal 2 Pro is a powerful, bagless vacuum cleaner with so much suction power.    It heavier then other vacuums, but the hose and wand more than makes up for it, stretching up to 15 feet!  It comes with a very long cord and useful set of attachments for every area of your home and pets too such as the pet grooming tool and tangle free turbine tool.   Dyson, you've done it again!

Powerful and Quiet

I bought this vacuum last year and have enjoyed using it with minimal fuss. However, one design flaw is that ever time I empty the cylinder I have to clean out the input connect between the housing and the hose end. This restricted part of the system continually gets blocked with dog hair and causes loss of suction. Apart from this design flaw the vacuum works effectively. Good vacuum, poor design flaw

Over all a good machine however I have listed below my opinion of the positives and negatives for this model.

Positives:

Very good suction/Good length on wand/Roller ball on handle top makes manoeuvring easier/Removal and empting of bin is very straight forward and effective/Better quality filters than previous model/Design of accessory holder much better than previous model, clip hold is a great idea/ Good balance when moving cylinder across the floor/Overall carrying weight of machine is light in comparison to the power of the machine/Product is compact and neat for storage.

Negatives:

Brush bar head is to small, I preferred the size used in previous model/Cylinder does not move freely when on a carpeted floor, I feel you need to use to much force to move it around the floor/When machine is in the storage position the carrying handle is obstructed by the wand/When using the large suction control cleaning head I find the head very hard to manoeuvre around the floor. Even when I reduced the suction on the cleaner head I found it quite difficult to manoeuvre around and under furniture. I found the force required to manoeuvre this head made my wrists sore after a short spell of use. Perhaps when using this head a ball movement between the wand and cleaner head would improve its mobility. I found using this tool very cumbersome./Length of electric cable is bit on the short side especially when cleaning hall, stair and landing areas.



Overall I found this model to be of good quality and most of the modifications have made an improvement on the previous model. However I am a bit disappointed with the large cleaner heads ease of use and the cylinders ability to move freely on carpet.



I would definatley recommend this hoover to pet owners as the suction is excellent

My Experience as a tester

Like it overall just couple of niggles that could be looked at compared to my old Dyson animal we had for 10 yrs

the balance of the machine when using the attachments isn't as stable 

the attachments that clip on to the machine seem to come off when pulling the tools out easily

when wrapping the cord back when finished i found it will unclip and fall

like the way it moves seems easier than the old one

good pick up on wooden floors especially with the 2 dogs

so far no issues with the hoover and overall very happy

PROS AND CONS IS WHAT I CAN SAY

I have used this cleaner for 2 years now and it is the most annoying product I have had. I have used many dysons before. The weight is good. The tools are good. The extension hose great to get to my tall ceilings. But the product blocks with fluff and dusty after nearly every use. I spend more time with it on its side than upright. Even took it to a dyson repair shop for a clean out. A big weakness in what should have been a good machine
