This is the very first cylinder vacuum I have owned and can honestly say I'm very impressed.  I've owned upright Dyson machines in the past and have found them to be very good and reliable so was expecting this one to be no different.  I've only had this for a couple of weeks but early use has shown how good it is at both carpet and hard flooring.



The range of tools is very good and I'm particularly impressed with the heads that have the rotating head on them - they really pick up fluff and hairs from carpets.  Also like the fully articulated handle at the top of the wand - it makes it easy to get to hard places.  I was not sure how effective the big ball would be at a) following me round the house and b) righting itself if it was knocked over.  It is great on both counts and follows you round very easily. Suction is very impressive on this machine.



Only downside is the length of the cable - love the fact that it retracts at the punch of a button (which works every time) but the cable is not as long as on an upright, which is what I was used to. I understand space inside this vacuum is at a premium so can understand why it is not longer. 



Overall, I'm very impressed, and would definitely recommend this product.

Impressive machine.....

Dyson

First the vac is attractive. Collection bin easily lifts off vac and reattaches to vac with zero effort. NO FILTERS to clean or replace. Love the no clog turbine tool for furniture, works very well on german shepherd dog hair. Has excellent maneuverability and if it does tip over, this vac picks itself back up. Amazing. The hose also bends at handle, which makes storage and cleaning easier. If you love canister vacs, as I do you will love this machine. Also does excellent on bare floors. No lose of suction noticed even when bin is full. Canister is awesome for getting under furniture and under beds for cleaning. Dyson also has fabulous customer service, they stand behind their products.

Best canister.

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I used a Dyson before but I was not prepared for the Cinetic Big Ball Animal Pro. Upon unboxing, I was gleefully suprised with how many attachments it came with. I immediately started thinking about all the things I could clean (the car being the top of the list). After the awe sunk in, I EASILY attached the hose piece to the arm and head of the vacuum. When the on switch was hit, I felt my arm pulled forward - the suction on this baby is NO JOKE. The carpet changed colour from being so clean. I quickly ran to couch and marveled at the dog hair disappearing. The last test was the front door carpet and I giggled as I heard all the gravel sucked up.

Emptying the container was laughably easy, just pull a latch to remove from the base and hold the canister over a garbage bag - the pull another latch and voila!



Other nice notes - the ball moves like a dream with you and the power cord has a button to neatly tuck back inside the device. Easy storage and made cleaning fun rather than a chore

Powerful, sleek, convenient

I highly recommend this canister sweeper. My home has 2/3 hardwood flooring , 1/3 carpeting and wood steps. This sweeper is outstanding at cleaning all three surfaces. I own a large dog and cat. I sweep daily and always have so I have owned several sweepers over the years. The Dyson cleaning performance is outstanding, the price reasonable, and 5 year guarantee unparalleled. I no longer buy any other brand sweeper other than Dyson.



A few favorite features of this model is the extra long handle that allows me to use the small brush attachment to reach my 9 Ft ceiling air vents without climbing on a chair. 



I also like not having to empty a bag or rinse out any filters. Unlike earlier models this one has no filter that needs rinsing.



The attachment holder fits easily on the handle and the attachments are right at your fingertips while sweeping. I popped one off while sweeping the carpet to dust off the baseboard. I would have not gone to the closet to get it but with it being right there I didnt hesitate. 



The small attachment with the 2 spinners was great on the pet bed and would be great on carpeted steps if you had them.



While the regular brush head attachment is for use on both hardwood and carpet, I personally prefer purchasing the optional articulating hard floor tool attachment. I do not feel the dual regular head scratches my hardwood I just like the softness of the optional hard floor tool attachment.

Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal

I have 4 big dogs that shed so I vacuum once a day. The Dyson is easy to use on both carpet and flooring. It picks up a lot of hair and even dust and dirt. It is easy to clean and the parts are easy to switch. I look forward to using it for a long time. There are a couple of things I would like to see improved. One is a longer cord. I also would like a better way to carry all the attachments around with you. I will review again in a few months and if the suction remains as good I will be very happy as most of the vacuums I have purchased in the past have fizzled out rather quickly in my house.

Our Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal is a must have for any medium to large families

We have only had our Dyson a short time but am so impressed i feel the need to comment

We are a family of 5 (3 children 14,11,3 and also have a pet cat)

Our Dyson is used seamlessly and efficiently on a daily basis from the kids bedrooms to the stairs and wherever the cat has molted his hair throughout the house.

It is very manageable to use and lighter than the previous dyson ball we have had in the past.. 

Our Dyson included the following multiple attachments:

Carbon fibre turbine head, (perfect for kitchen and hallway tiled floor)

combination tool, 

stair tool - (works great!)

tangle free turbine tool

i would highly recommend this particular model due to it's multiple functions, the attachments included, the minimal storage space it takes up (ours fits under the stair cupboard and the way it disposes of the dust easily - with our original dyson ball we had to touch the waste/dust as it never emptied very well but not with this one!



All in all - a fantastic product 10/10

My new Dyson arrived right after my weekly cleaning service left. My house was cleaned but I decided to go ahead and vacuum it anyway so i could get to know my new best friend. With a house with two dogs, two teenagers and located in the middle of the desert; I have the experties to spot every patch of dirt, so I thought. As I gracefully glide thru the house the canister collected the finest dust left from the last dust storm plus every dog hair hidden between the wood floor boards. It was amazing! The new Cinetic definitively has a greater power of cleaning. It is much lighter and compact than my Animal model. I really appreciate all the accessories new location which make it so easy to get to it . The multifloor automatic transition is so convenient, no need to bend down to change settings.The handle also has a better design as it folds down. The reach of the machine is definitely noticeable. Not needing to reach different electrical plugs makes the process faster. Still the most impressive feature it is the incredible power of the suction. My floors stayed cleaner for longer period. I also used on my outdoor furniture white cushions,which were covered by the same dust storm. I was amazed how much dust was removed leaving the cushions back to its original white color.Overall, this is amazing product!

This vacuum cleaner is very user-friendly. The tools and hose fit together easily with a satisfying 'click' and I like that there is a slot on the base for the hose and foot to store away neatly. 

My favourite thing about this cleaner is the great suction! The sock fluff that sticks to my carpet from my boys was always a pain to vacuum up, but the suction on this machine makes it a much easier job. ALthough I still feel that cylinder machines are better for hard floors and uprights for carpets. I have yet to find a vacuum that is truly equally good on both surfaces.

I also love the ease with which you can empty the canister - the new design means it pushes the dust/debris out, whereas I used to have to get my hand in and pull it out on my old Dyson cylinder vacuum.

On the downside, I feel the foot is too flexible meaning it sometimes lifts up or tskes extra manouevreing to get into the corners. And the new deign at the top of the hose where it has a sort of hinge nipped the skin of my upper arm and gave me a blood blister. Maybe that was a freak accident (hardly life-threatening) but I've never been bitten by my vac before!

Overall, a great little vacuum.

Great little vacuum

Experience so far extremely positive, bin does need emptying regularly but with no lose of suction caused by filter needing to be washed this is no inconvenience. Suction very good in fact even on a short pile carpet and on minimum quiet hard to move. Only 4 stars as twice on removing bin have somehow managed to empty it on the floor, hopefully this is down to human error and not the machine.

Cinetic bigball

I am using model CY22 cinetic big ball (bought in asia 2019) for 1 month plus, overall everything was fine. Accept the model that was launch in asia did not have some of the "additional tool" an example would be stiff bristle brush, flat out floor tool, multi-angle brush etc. And to use the additional tool you need an additional attachment which can be quite tedious to change in between the cleaning and because of the attachment the length, it will extend longer which can be too long for an add-on tools like reach under tool..with the wand handle attached with combination tool can be quite long also and sometimes hard to maneuver as we will be in an awkward distance.



Aside from the tooling, 

i find that the electronic cord is slightly shorter it would be good if it is extended longer..



Because of the hose ergonomics with the hose located at the bottom & wand handle + combination tool sometime it is hard to clean area at chest, stomach, or head level because of the hose length and wand handle the distance is a bit awkward when vaccuming. I think anyone who is using this model can relate to this especially trying to vacuum a cabinet at chest height sometimes you may need to even lift up the vacuum...to reach for the area there are times you may also need to detached the wand handle shorter to easy maneuver..



Interchanging of heads is easy but not at ease because when you were to change to another head for a short period of time the turbine head will roll off and drop to the ground even when it is lean against the wall...this can be improve further...it would be good if it can be lean against the wall without falling off



Emptying of bin is easy but there will still be bit of dust accumilating outside the canister lid and entry point which may be clean with a wet tissue...occasionally you may need to dig out stuck dirt, threads or hairs even after emptying your bin...i find it is still alright mimimum cleaning..not to troublesome on this..



Overall everything was good accept on the ergonomics and meneuvering at different height level was not very pleasant...but other than that it definitely won a place among other brands in the market...especially on suction power and zero cleaning needed...hope this helps

Overall is good but more room for improvement

In 2011 we bought the DC23 canister vacuum and it was amazing. The stair hugging capability was great and although it didn't transition from carpet to floors, as smoothly as Id hoped it would, the motor head picked up everything in its path. 

I worked so well, that within a 4yr span I had talked 3 friends and a family member into purchasing it.

After 12 years I was sad when it finally died but I didn't even hesitate to go out and purchase a new Dyson (Sept 2023)

I don't know where to begin with my disappointment

The canister is smaller, the suction on hardwood is awful and its even worse on carpet. 

If the Cinetic Big Ball Animal Pro was the first Dyson vacuum I'd purchased, I would have warned friends & family to stay away
