Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Purchase EVER! I wasn't exactly ready to buy my Dyson, instead planning to wait until I moved. But as I was checking out which model I liked best in the store, I bought it on the spot I was so excited. Even though I had vacuumed with my non-Dyson the day before, I wanted to try out my new purchase. In one small carpeted hallway I couldn't believe the amount of dust, dirt and fluff the Dyson picked up almost filled the canister! Well, I could believe it, I could literally see it! I also bought extra attachments: crevice tool, mattress tool, and duster - all work exactly as I'd expected and were easy to attach. It was disgusting to think I had been "vacuuming" my house all these years with a non-Dyson; almost made me sick. My suggestion to you is if you're not using a Dyson then you're not vacuuming, you're pretty much pressing the sticky side of packing tape onto the carpet to pick up the dirt that is obvious and calling your home "clean". Sorry for the bad news but on the plus side this is the best investment you can buy for your home cleaning. My suggestions for Dyson are: - please mention on the box "assembly required" (if it is already there it is too small to notice) - please provide a toolkit bag or extra holders for the fantastic extra attachments this model comes with (and the extras I bought separately). - please explain in the instructions that the wand can have suction while still attached in the upright position on the handle (thought I'd broken something!)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The canister was full Before I got my Dyson 66 I was using my central vac and my old Kenmore that I thought was doing a good job. Was I wrong ! In the past I had been putting baking soda on my rugs to get rid of the dog smell. I thought that my central vac was getting the baking soda out. When I vacuumed with the Dyson 66 its canister was almost full of baking soda, dog hair and dirt. This was only from doing my living room rug and I have a small living room. I read other reviews saying this and I thought they were probably exaggerating. They're Not.This vacuum is amazing. The only problem is that I am a small not very strong woman and I found it to be heavy. It was really hard to use on the stairs but I think they expect you to use the telescopic wand and attachment brush. But my stairs were very dirty and I wanted to use the attachment that is used to clean the rugs because it has more suction and the revolving brush. The telescopic wand is difficult to use. It is very stiff it's like it needs to be broken in by keeping it stretched out when your not using it which I think I'm actually going to do so I can use it. I gave it only 4 stars because of the stair and wand problem. But I give it 5 stars Excellent for cleaning the rugs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Maintains suction BUT I have had my DC66 over a month and it does what it advertises BUT with one proviso. 1-GREATly maintains suction and not having to turn on a switch when I vacuum from carpet to concrete tile is painless! 2-The attachments are great as I find a use for them every day that I vacuum my room, kitchen, bathroom, laundry room and stairs. I'm renting a basement suite. 3-The ease of simply detaching the dirt catcher and releasing that dirt into my garbage bin is EASY. BUT 1-Using the flexible hose vacuuming the stairs needs some getting used to as the extension handle and the hose are still stiff so hopefully with continous usage the flexihose will be flexible enough that I don't feel it pulling me when I'm at the top of the stairs. 2-There has to be a better way to clean the remaining dirt off the dirt catcher bottom because I have to use a toothbrush to get the fine dirt/dust off that catcher. 3-I wish there was a toolbag for the model I have as I think I'm only missing two accessories from the accessory store. Having a storage bag for the attachments will be beneficial as I currently have them in a box. Thank you. Dennis D.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Money well spent!!!! OK, I purchased the Dyson 66 Animal. My old vacuum cleaner broke down after nearly 20 years of very, very good cleaning. I thought, how can any vacuum perform better than my old one? I barely started using my new Dyson, and I KNEW it would be the right replacement. I say with confidence, that anyone wanting an EXCELLENT vacuum cleaner, to buy DYSON!!!!!!!!!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from very good suction good on carpet but my wife hates it on regular floors picks up any dust but no good for say broken up crackers or little chunk of cheezie this head is for carpets it pushes anything around that is quarter inch high the head is no good for regular vacuuming went back to store to see if they had a ordinary vacuum head no such luck turn drum on crackers fly out both sides. leave drum off some of the crackers get stuck on the bristles on drum. cure.. ordinary vacuum head stuff goes straight down the shout instead of trying to go around the drum its to low. only had it for a month shes going to take it back what a shame just because of the head really like it other wise (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great except cord is always falling off and getting in way. Cord is nice and long and suction is great for picking up dirt and dust.
