I was instantly happy with the colour (pepper was the first one I ordered); I’d been looking for a simple bright red lipstick, and I also ordered Raspberry afterwards because the pinker shade appealed to me. It was a little darker than I expected but I’m still happy with it. 
The consistency takes a little getting used to. It’s true - you can get the pigmentation with one swipe, but for the full satin effect you need to give it some work. Otherwise you end up with a matte texture, which is cool if you’re into that. It also doesn’t dry, which on the plus side makes it nice and hydrating, but on the other hand it comes off on everything so you have to be careful! 
E.l.f. products smell and feel great - they’re not over-perfumed and don’t smell of horrible petroleum or have a strange taste either; something that’s very important to me if I’m going to be wearing it on my face most of the day rather than painting it on a canvas!
I intend to order crème and taffy next for some less dramatic looks; I hope the colours deliver as pepper and raspberry do. It is very good value.

These lipsticks are so creamy and pigmented, it's unbelievable! The price range is amazing. I haven't found a lipstick like this anywhere else.I cannot do without these. They look fantastic with every look! I highly recommend trying these. You won't be disappointed!

Satin Lipstick

The other day at the store I picked up 4 of these beauties, I got the shades Nectar, cider, cocoa and sugarplum. They swipe on the lips very easily and the coverage and pigmentations lay down beautifully against the lips, they also dry down into a Demi matte finish. One thing on the shade cocoa, it’s a very reddish brown color that’s more creamier then the other shades and it does lay a little more patchier in color, but I’m not taking any stars away from the lipsticks, they’re amazing! My two favorite shades are definitely nectar which is more on the peachy pink side and would look great on just about every skin tone and then Cider which is a true brick color which is so pretty on the lips. Love these so much!

Creamy and dries down Demi-matte ❤️

These lippies are amazing! Very pigmented they dry matte BUT THEY DONT dry your lips! I got 9 of them and have been using them alternatively everyday since. I got no complaints. My lips are very delicate and dry and finding lipsticks that don’t make it worst is really a treasure! Amazing!

I bought this in the shade “nectar” and it’s really nice. I usually don’t like matte lipsticks because of how drying they are, so this satin lipstick is a breath of fresh air amid the sea of mattes. Very nice creamy formula, though sometimes it doesn’t want to stay on the center of my lips but that’s probably my fault lol

Love this lipstick

Every time I put on this lipstick, I look at myself in the mirror and say " WOW, she is EVERYTHING". And I'm not just talking about myself, I am talking about the lipstick. It glides like silk on your lips. It's super rich and it actually moisturizes your lips. I can't wait to try the other shades.

I AM LOCO FOR COCOA

Purchased this in cherry and actually fell in love with it. I typically only wear balms because my lips chap easily. This went on so smoothly and layered beautifully over my Candy Kiss Lip balm. I’m going to order a couple more colors. This is great pigment for a night out.

Really smooth for a lipstick!!

These are some high quality, hydrating lipsticks and for the price, you can’t beat, no other brand lipstick is this low in cost. I have brought numerous other lipstick that were low in cost and I can tell you that I don’t even touch the other lipsticks, I have continuously kept wearing my elf lipstick and cider is absolutely beautiful on women of color, you will not regret your purchase, it’s more of an investment in your makeup collection than anything, you will definitely love, start shopping now!!!!!

Lipstick

Just got it today. The simulator showed me a dark, rich brown and it's more of a terra cotta/orangy colour. (Which I already have from Covergirl, but with glitter instead of matte) The texture is smooth, but a bit sheer, you definately have to put a couple layers to get a lot of pigment. I'm just a bit disappointed that it's not more brown and darker as I expected.

A lot more pale than advertised

Didn’t get to try it. The lipstick arrived broken in half inside the tube. Lipstick smeared inside.
Will see if they have it in the store
