I like the small size of this brush. I use it on fine eyebrow lines and also for thin lines of eyeshadow around my eyes. It's a precise brush for these uses.

I'm not going to lie, this brush sat around in my kit for a month before I figured out how I like to use this brush. I use this to pack on highlight to the inner corner of my eye and as a lip brush. I also recently use this to apply and smudge out shadow along my lash line whenever I want a subtle look. It does all of those jobs well, except I call this a "lip liner brush" when I use this for a lip brush because it doesn't put down as much product as typical lip brush. It puts down as much product on the lips as a lip pencil does... which is FANTASTIC because now I have lip liners to perfectly  match all of my lipsticks now.

Great For Detail Work

i bought this a month ago and i love it. it picks up a lot of eyeshadow, whether that eyeshadow or colour is pigmented or not, it will make it look the best pigmented thing ever! if you dab it, it will pick up a little, but rub it in a bit and it will pick up a lot. i've used this for my crease, under eye, and to build up and around the top of my eyelid. overall, i'm very pleased and glad i bought this brush. i always use it when applying makeup, i would be lost without it!

best smudge brush ever

Guys this brush is phenomenal I mean I use this brush to apply my cream eyeliners, for lip product, to get in those small corners. Also just a friendly tip the dollar tree carries some of elf brushes now, well at least in NJ not sure worldwide. But still a great price for such a great brush

Elf Makeup Brushes

I tried it first for lower eye liner and it is a little too stiff for my lower lash line, I don't know if mine is just particularly sensitive or what but it was a little too rough on my skin. That being said, I then used it for a light coating of elf's clear brow gel (using the spoolie seems to apply too thick for my taste) and it worked amazing! Then I used it to apply brow powder and also worked amazing for that. So bottom line, I don't like it for eyeliner but works great for brows!!

Love it for brows but too stiff for eyeliner

I don't use it to smudge necessarily, but I do use it every day to apply color to my lower lash line. It does an excellent job picking up the eyeshadow and putting it where I want it, which is essentially a make up brush's job. Its great for eyelining but I've never tried it with cream products. I always line my lower lashes with eyeshadow and this brush does a perfect job of lining with a thin soft line. Maybe that's why they call it a smudge brush... I love this little guy though

Great tiny brush

I got this brush as a part of my elf surprise kit, and was really excited. Unfortunately, the bristles are either too long or too soft. It doesn't really do the job, and when I tried using it to smudge my eyeliner, it barely made a mark. Overall, I probably won't be using it again.

Too soft

I don't see how anyone could use this thing as a smudge brush. Way too soft and thin for that. You could use it as an eyeliner for your gels, but since I already have an eyeliner this was a bit of a wasted purchase. It does look nice though. If I ever lose my eyeliner brush, I'll know that I have a back up

Smudge brush? Not!

I haven't found this brush effective at all for smudging. The bristles are too short to properly smudge at the lash line. It actually just picks up color and transfers it to another area in the same line pattern...instead of blurring/smudging. I've started to use this brush to dip in my potted concealer for TINY blemishes. I also use it to dip in my potted foundation and then define my brows underneath and above. Great brush for everything BUT what's it's intended to do.
