I noticed a few ladies complaining that this doesn't apply eyeshadow well. That isn't what it's for,"Use the sponge tip to expertly SMUDGE and BLEND eyeliner and eyeshadow." is what the description says. When used as instructed, this smudge sponge works beautifully. I can certainly see if you skipped the instructions and tried to use it for application, you would be sorely disappointed.

I actually use this sponge for my eyebrows. It makes them look so natural and it fixes the brow shadow/powder perfectly, much better than brushes. I'm so glad I had the idea to use it for my eyebrows instead of my lids only. I will keep buying it as long as E.L.F. sells them.

THE BEST SMUDGE SPONGE !!!

This is a great tool to use to apply highlight to your inner eye. I take elf's "angelic" mineral eyeshadow and dip the sponge applicator (lightly, don't get too much) and just TAP in and around the corner of your eye and just along that inner corner of your bottom lash line. Your eyes will just pop! So gorgeous! I also use this tool to smudge my lower lash eyeliner. The trick is to TAP and not drag the sponge along your lash line. If it hurts your not using it correctly.

I think that I picked this up on a whim at Target months ago, but I only gave it a try a few days ago. Wow! I love this tool! I was surprised to see so many less-than-positive reviews so I figured that I should tell you how great this works for me. As a middle-aged woman with thinning, crepey skin around my eyes, I have to be particularly careful when applying eyeliner to my lower lash line. This sponge is perfect for applying powder shadow to my lower lash line. I don't scrape this along my lash line. Instead, I dab shadow and pull it gently. It works great and gives me a fine line with no fallout. Because the sponge is so dense, you can really pack on powder shadow and distribute it well. I plan on buying at least five more of these sponges. I've found that it also works great to smudge lip liner for an ombre effect. And it's great for applying a highlight eye shadow color to the inner corners of the eyes. I'm still figuring out new ways to use this sponge.

A great all-around tool to have!

Straight doodoo for smudging my eyeliner, this tiny Face Secrets Smudge Brush I got from Sally's works way better. BUT I really love this e.l.f. sponge stick for doing my concealer so it's a keeper for me. So much that I'm returning this Make Up For Ever 222 Sponge Applicator I got coming in the mail.

Good for Concealer

I mostly use this to apply the eyebrow cream to my brows. It applies it faster, more evenly, and I find it easier to use 'cause I'm blinder than a bat!

Versatile

Buy a few! The best little necessity brush. These aren't on every pencil and blends out beautifully every time! Even works as a great highlight blender & small contour areas! You just can't beat a buck too!

The perfect mini beauty blender!

I got this product a while ago with a kit and it is flawless! It was my favorite brush out of the kit and total helped with my eyeliner after it was applied. It is the perfect smudge brush!

I've had this for a while. It's not bad. A little stiff, so it doesn't smooth anything out as well as I'd like. It works well for concealers, and is pretty good about small touch-ups, and I can dab a little bit of olive oil on my beauty marks with it to show them off again. It's also good for blending out anything you'd put at the inner corner of your eye. 

For the price, you can't beat it, though.

Yep. It's an Eye Sponge.

It is very scratchy.  I had one that I bought several years ago with the black handle and it was GREAT.  Please bring the black handle version back or soften the new one up.

This sponge is way too hard and too rough.
