This is my second ecobee and was surprised at the deal from Walmart. The reporting of usage by this unit is great and well worth the investment. The sensors are also a must too.

Another ecobee.

Had new hvac system installed and wanted to get rid of my old 2nd gen N**t thermostat . Opted for the enhanced Ecobee thermostat . Installation was a breeze with the included c wire adapter. The app is such a great interface . Easy to navigate . The real plus was that I was able to connect to my Generac generator and any notifications show on my thermostat. I've been thru my share of smart thermostats and the Ecobee is by far my favorite. It's worth every penny!!

A great quality thermostat

Ecobee

Recently had a new boiler installed and could not use my old thermostat without any wiring modifications. Since I was upgrading the wiring I chose upgrade the thermostat and chose ecobee because of its integration with Apple home kit. The app and the thermostat are easy to use and being able to use Siri to check and change the temperature is an added benefit.

A Step Up

Ecobee is designed for heat pumps, squeezing all the heat /cooling it can from a heat pump by managing demand to give 2 hours for pump to provide the temperature demanded at the time demanded. Once we were cruising the Pacific while kids & grandkids were in our home and the heat pump failed. I used Ecobee to switch to Auxiliary heat from the Pacific Ocean. Very easy to alter the heat/cool pattern remotely. Set and forget.

Manage home heat and cooling from anywhere

I used a Nest thermostat for many years. So many, in fact, that they stopped supporting it, forcing me to upgrade. I was unhappy when Nest was purchased by Google, so I did my homework, and decided to go with the Ecobee instead. I've been using it for about two weeks now, and so far, I'm very impressed. Physically, it's not as luxurious as the Nest, but I used the app 99% of the time, so that is almost irrelevant. Functionally, it is much better than the Nest, with more configurability, and many more reporting options, which is what is most important to me.

Very happy so far.

I've had this thermostat for a couple of weeks and couldn't be happier. It had very clear instructions making it easy to install and set up. I added room sensors for my bedroom
And living room and using the eco+ it has really improved the comfort level in my rooms. The living room has always been cooler than the rest of the house due to having 10ft ceilings. I also like the feature of adjusting the temperature based on the home humidity. This has been a game changer in my home.

Very good Thermostat

From the reviews I'd read, Ecobee seemed to be the gold standard for smart thermostats, and in my experience so far, I concur. Installation was idiot-proof even if you have zero electrical experience (like myself), and the features are extremely user-friendly. We have a large 2-story house with an open living room, and our ‘dumb' thermostats were really struggling to keep the temperature balanced without blowing up our gas bill. With the Ecobees installed, we're more comfortable and saving on our utility bills, and the ability to control everything on my phone is just icing on the cake. It's a win-win!

Massive quality of life upgrade

The thermostat was installed almost three weeks ago, it is alot better than the one I had. The touch screen is easy to use, connects to the app instantly and responds immediately. I haven't had the opportunity to use all the features but it offers option for setting up a schedule and monitors usage. It also notified me when I needed to change the filter.

Great Upgrade

Love all the features with the simplicity of self installation, programming and looks nice as well! Great features to help save energy & money, plus you could add sensors for odd temperature rooms & much more. Best value I could find & I've tested the accuracy with my professional grade temperature gun.

Not your Average Thermostat!

I just replaced a competitor brand with 2 ecobee Enhanced, and I wish I hadn't. They're for a cottage in Canadian summers and winters, so it needs hours to pre-heat / cool, which makes the occupancy motion sensor adjustments useless. There is no simple "away" function offered on the ecobee, it requires 3 steps. If ever you have more than 1 ecobee thermostat, it requires 3 steps for each thermostat, as there is no way to group them together. You have to change each one individually, so 4 thermostats means 4X 3-step adjustments, each time you are set to arrive or leave.  HomeKit won't handle the "away for now" function well, unless you're willing to sacrifice being able to change the thermostat temperature on each thermostat to "until next setting", meaning that if you increase the temperature one random afternoon because you're slightly cold, it will manually stay that temperature until manually changed, overriding the next program (not to mention that it requires a HomePod or Apple TV, and even then, there is no easy away setting). Google Home has ridiculously limited functionality that it's not even worth it. Ecobee support says that Alexa will let you group the thermostats, but I'd be surprised given the failings of other smart home apps and ecobee itself. It's unfortunate that the thermostat company has to rely on a third party for functionality that it should inherently have. I'm not a fan of my previous thermostat company since they discontinued all wifi functionality for 1st and 2nd gen thermostats, but I certainly wish that I had replaced my discontinued thermostats with new ones from them instead for this type of functionality. Otherwise, the Ecobee is good looking with neat features, but I'm not sure that the engineers have ever used their thermostats in the Canadian climate...which is odd for a Canadian company.  I hope this helps; these are things I would have liked to know before purchasing.

Only buy 1. Don't get for a cottage.

Consistently wrong temperature on my device, verified by 3 separate third party thermometers. Seems to be an incredibly common issue per Reddit. Contacted support and followed their instructions and issue still wasn't resolved. Also, this website is so poorly built that trying to leave a review on this page is the most frustrating thing ever as you can never accurately tap the box you want to input. Speaks volumes to their level of quality that they can't even build a simple web form correctly.
