Description & Features+

The Element series emphasizes yoga's mind-body connection and both the physical fitness and mental clarity that come from its regular practice. Instructor Elena Brower leads two programs specifically designed for the needs of pregnant women and new mothers: the prenatal routine offers safe exercises that strengthen the body and relax the mind in preparation for childbirth, while the postnatal routine tones muscles, increases energy, and reduces stress. ~ Sandra Bencic, Rovi

Element: Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good 30 minutes of Yoga I am now 23 weeks pregnant and have been using this DVD for about 5 weeks. I use it 3-4 times per week. It is a good mix of breathing and some stretches. I hear Yoga will make delivery easier, which is definitely a good goal. The narrator makes sure to acknowledge your pregnancy with suggestions for modifications when you get bigger and making sure you pay attention to you baby along with your Yoga stances.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Met expectations I wanted a prenatal yoga dvd so I could do yoga from home and know that the positions were safe for my growing baby. The instructor is calming and the positions well explained. It might be too basic for someone who is more experienced with yoga but it suited my needs perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Definitely worth it! Great, even for beginners! I purchased this in an effort to help reduce sciatic pain during pregnancy. I have NEVER done yoga before, but found it was very easy. Of course, I had to work on my flexibility and breathing at first, but I was amazed at how it took away my sciatic pain, from the first time I used it! The releif I have gotten by doing this yoga was definitely worth the small price!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Better post- than prenatal. I got this DVD in my third month of pregnancy. It is a good workout but some of the moves, such as plank pose, are those that I've been told by my doctor to avoid while pregnant as they put too much pressure on the abdominal muscles and risk diastasis of the muscles. I've done all of these poses pre-pregnancy but on doctor's orders won't do them now and risk my abdominals being more screwed up than they're bound to be post-baby! I'm keeping the video because I think it will come in handy post-baby but for the time being I am disappointed because I really wanted a full workout that I could participate in now and for the duration of my pregnancy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yoga I thought this video was a great way to keep doing yoga during my pregnancy. It provided a relaxing way to get a great workout while still being safe for me and my baby.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from average yoga dvd I had a little higher expectations for this DVD and was slightly disappointed. I have been doing my pre-natal yoga at a studio which I love. They have recently closed and I wanted a dvd to do it at home. I like this one but it is different then a live session. Beginners to yoga I do recommend.
