Prior to purchasing this product, the only balm cleanser I had used was from Good Molecules. I was running low, and budget was tight, so after reading the positive reviews,  I gave this a try. I always have trouble fully removing eyeliner and mascara. There is always some left behind unless I scrub my eyes raw. This helps melt it away better than anything else I've tried, and with a pricetag like this, it's my new holy grail makeup remover!

This is a great eye makeup remover. It takes off regular and water-proof mascara completely, it doesn't burn my eyes and it rinses clean. I run the stick across my eyelashes, rub it around with my finger (you can feel when the mascara is gone) and wipe it with a cotton makeup cloth.

Works Great!

I've been looking for an alternative to makeup wipes for ages now and I am so happy I finally found it! Use as directed, it gets all my makeup off and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated. Could not be happier, please never get rid of this!!

My Favorite and Eco Friendly Makeup Remover!!

I purchased this on a whim. I wear makeup everyday for work and the makeup I use stays put. This product takes it off! However, because I have some issues with reapplying the balm to my face after it has been used I tweaked the use a bit. So, I use the little pink spa sponges from elf, rub the balm on the sponges then use the sponge to apply the balm to my face. The sponge also exfoliates and can be cleaned. The balm is reminiscent of Vaseline in texture. There is not a noticeable scent. It goes on smoothly, removes my primer, foundation and eyeshadow without burning.
I followed up with my normal cleaning routine and the product played well with everything. No itching or redness. 
I will repurchase but I do wish this came in a tub so I could use a spatula.

Great product want different packaging

I just ordered my third stick of this. I love it. Makes makeup removal so much easier. I actually use this on my eyes as well, just rub some of it on my fourth finger and run over the eyelid and mascara. Mascara is always the hardest thing to remove and this is SO helpful. Highly recommend.

LOVE this

I  do not ever look forward to taking my makeup off because it always seems like a chore, but this thing is just so much fun! It's like rubbing a huge Chapstick all over your face but it takes off the make up effectively and leaves the skin hydrated ! very gentle too, I just wish you got a little bit more product for the price but I will definitely re-purchase

I know this is formulated for all makeup, but I primarily use it for my stubborn waterproof eye makeup, and I am telling you that I have never found anything that works better. No tugging, no burning, no loss of precious lashes, no residue. And best of all, it is so easy to just throw in your travel bag and go; no worrying about spilling that greasy liquid makeup remover. PLEASE e.l.f., don't ever stop making this!

Best eye makeup remover ever!

I found my best use and place for this product is in my gym bag. I do believe it is very effective at removing makeup. One of my favorite makeup remover products is Soap N Glory's 'Peaches n Clean Deep Cleansing Milk. When I wear a full face of makeup, I use that product at the end of the day to 'melt' my makeup off. This product gives me a similar experience but in the stick/balm form. Typically I was using makeup remover wipes at the gym before working out. Those are great, but it always felt like I spent a long time just scrubbing at my face/eyes to remove my makeup. This product can have a 'greasy' texture but I believe that's part of why it removes my makeup so much easier. I LOVE having it in this form for my gym bag because I don't have to worry about it spilling out in my bag, (normal cleanser) or drying out in my bag (makeup wipes), it makes the process quick and easy. Yes, if you want to fully remove makeup and cleanse your face you're going to have to use it in combination with a cotton pad or cloth to reach all the corners of your face. But let's be honest, if I'm just stopping at the gym after work and I don't want to workout with a face full of makeup on, I'm more than pleased to have a product like this which will remove everything quickly. I don't care much if there's still some remnants of mascara or whatever on my face because I know I'm just going to get sweaty and have to fully cleanse my face after the workout anyway.  I know this maybe seems like a specific scenario but this is how I've been using this product and I think it's great for that purpose.

Great gym bag product

I absolutely adore elf - almost my entire skincare and makeup routine comes from this site. That said, I was let down by this product. It's does remove makeup effectively, without needed to scrub hard (especially to remove eye makeup) and leaves the skin feeling moisturized. The major downside is that there is veryyy little product in the container! It only lasted me 3-4 weeks. And tube inside of the product I received was loose from the outside plastic and made twisting the product up very difficult. For the price, this is not worth it. The product could be way better in a screw top jar.

Works great, but very little product!

I think this product is a great idea - super for travel, which is where I tested it.  It goes on nicely, seems emolient, but then .. when I tried to massage the product in ..ugh, the product is so stiff, that it seems to do facial skin more harm than good. This product ended up in the round file.
