I ordered this printer for occasional home use, I only need to print something out 2 or 3 times a month. Set up was easy, even using my Chromebook (that was a first). When I printed out the page after set up, the alignment/colors were a little off. I should have known right then that I would end up having trouble. I went through the various solutions in the manual, and never got *perfect* results, but I was able to get it close enough to print out the document I needed. 2 days later, I decided to use it again, at which point the ink cartridges were all empty (I had only printed a handful of pages of black and white text). I had a spare black cartridge, so I put that in, and it printed, but every, maybe 5 letters, two of the letters would be too close together, and be difficult to read at a glance. Again, I tried all the troubleshooting...and from that point on, it completely stopped working. Now, anytime I print anything, the paper gets jammed. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Worked ONCE, then broke!

This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

The printer is shipped a small box that is only slightly larger than the printer itself. Over all this is a nice small printer that does not take up a lot of space. It's perfect if you don't have a lot of desk space.
The quick start guide was easy to follow. The printer was easy over all to install and setup. 
Wifi is a great addition to the printer. You don't have to have it hooked to one computer all the time. Wifi also makes it easy to print from your smartphone or tablet.
The printer has good quality for both papers and photos. The speed is not to bad either.

The scanner works great. The only thing I wish it had was an automatic sheet feeder for scanning more than one document at a time.
One thing that I do love about this printer is that you can print directly from your phone. This saves a lot of time. I cannot tell you how many times I will be on the couch looking up info on my phone and need to print it.

This is a great entry all-in-one printer that performs great. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a small all-in-one printer. Thanks for reading.

Great Little Printer

    I have been using the Epson Expression Home XP-340 for a couple of days now. Setting it up was not complicated. I read the instructions and removed all the unnecessary plastic covers. Putting in the inks and warming them up were also a very easy task. It came with a cd to run on my laptop so I could get the necessary installation files.

    After setting it up I decided to start printing. The first picture was a picture of my brother and it was super clear and quick. I used the wifi printing because it made things easier and quicker for me personally. Then I printed a document to see how legible the words would be and if I would run into any problems but I did not. Great product

I bought this for regular home use (print school reports, calendars, etc). It's lightweight and compact. I need a printer in which its main usage would be wireless. Setup and connecting to my network took a good 20 minutes. It came with easy to follow instructions. Though, I've only printed a handful of documents so far, this Epson has not disappointed. I haven't lost network connection and the print quality is just fine. While it prints at a reasonable rate, scanning documents is REALLY slow. It does the job well...just at a snail's pace. That being said, I'm totally happy with my purchase.

CD was totally blank!!..cottonpickin...needed it to run tonight.

Totally disappointed

So one if the many important aspects of buying a printer now a days is that it does everything all in one. This printer is maybe the best one I have ever owned. I went into my use with this model thinking all printers were pretty much the same, but I was surprised. The last "all in one" printer I bought was a mess.  It worked, but the wireless was not reliable, there were so many parts to the set up I almost gave up (seriously), and it was so much louder than a printer made in 2015 Should have been! I am very happy however with this model. 

I think the fact that I could easily connect my devices to print was probably the number one thing I liked about it. It says it is wireless and it really is! Also, it prints very crisp, clear pictures and it doesn't take all day (or all my ink). And guess what? If one of my colors of ink runs out, I only have to replace that individual color. I'm loving that. I'm sure the longer I use it the more I will find to like, but I really would recommend this to anyone!!

Great home office tool

Great printer!  Easy and straightforward set-up.  Epson's installation software is outstanding and bug free.  Instructions are clear and easy to read and understand.  Connecting to my network was easy and trouble free.  The firmware will be updated on the printer during installation which is nice.  Do not be in a rush when setting up the printer.  Take your time!  I have printed out a few photos to see how will it prints.  Outstanding for this class and price range.  I have also printed from my tablet without any problems.  The only negative that I found with the printer is that is takes a bit longer to print than I like.  I am sure this is due to the latency with connecting to the wireless router.

Upon receiving the printer I examined the packaging. There were minor crush areas on the corners of the box. The internal contents were undamaged. Unpacking was easy and without issues. All contents were I the box.
Installation to my laptop was very easy. Wifi connection was also just as easy. I even routed everything to my smartphone internet to test its vulnerability and that also worked very well.
I went on to print documents and photos that were stunningly crisp. As if I had them printed from a photo shop. Everything was vibrant in color. The main pictures I printed were of my daughter's graduation. If I hadn't printed them myself I would not have know t they were done on a home printer.
I highly recommend this printer to everyone

Suprisingly pleased

This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

The XP-340 is a member of Epson's Small-in-One printer lineup and small it is, approximately 19.5 x 15.25 x 11 with paper feed and catch tray extended. Unboxing the unit is simple – just grab the protective plastic bag and pull, as shown on the flap inside the box. Physical setup is as quick as inserting the power cord and included starter ink cartridges. After that comes network setup. If you choose to use wireless printing, as I did, then you'll use the printer's screen to locate your network SSID and type in the password by scrolling back and forth on the screen. Setting up software for Windows 10 from the included CD is a little tricky. You'll need to ignore the failure message after installing the software else you may end up with multiple copies of the printer installation, as I did. Don't worry – despite the error message, the printer works great. After installation, be sure to show hidden items on the tray (bottom of computer screen), locate the Epson icon, and right-click it to update the software.

The XP-340 supports printing, scanning, and copying; so let's discuss each. The printer driver is straightforward and printing does not disappoint. Regular print mode is dark and clear. The printer also has a draft mode, which I thought was a little light. The printer also supports manual two-sided printing, meaning that when you select two-sided printing in the driver the printer prints all of the front sides and then you'll see a pop-up graphic on your PC showing you how to reinsert the pages back into the paper tray so side two can be printed. This is a really easy, effective process. If you have a camera card, you can insert into a slot at front bottom left, choose one of the images on the card using the printer screen, and then print the image. It took me longer to describe the process than it will for you to use it. Finally, AirPrinting from my iPhone worked flawlessly.

After inserting a page to copy onto the glass platen, you can choose to copy in color or black and white from the printer's screen. Copies are clear and quick. If you need to double-side a copy then just reinsert the paper with side one back into the paper tray the same way you would have with double sided printing.

To scan, you can use the printer's screen menu or the included Epson Scan 2 app loaded from the installation CD. My advice is to use Epson Scan 2 since it gives you so many more options. Using the software, you can choose output type such as JPG, Bitmap, TIFF, PDF, or searchable PDF. Editable output is not offered unless perhaps you to have a way to edit PDF files. The scanner supports up to 1200 DPI, which should be acceptable for most applications. The software also allows you to rotate the saved image 0, 90, 180, or 270 degrees. I found this useful when I placed a sheet of paper upside down onto the platen.  Graphic scans had faithful reproduction. Searchability of a high-quality original was excellent but when I scanned a draft document printed on the printer which was somewhat light, nothing was searchable. Thus if you want a searchable PDF, the original needs to be high quality.

Overall, the Epson XP-340 provides good value for the money. It's not a top of the line printer nor does it pretend to be one. It offers most features the average user will need at very little expense of desk space.

This is a review for the Epson Expression Home XP-340 All-in-One Printer that I received free of charge to do a beta test and review.

So I'm gonna take the pros and cons breakdown approach with this.

Pros:
*Easy fast setup. From out of the box to when I was printing something was about 5 minutes, and that included rummaging around to find my SD card.
*Almost cordless.  There's an optional USB cable, but aside from that it's just the power cord.
*Easy wifi setup, my laptops built in printer software found it and set it all up in about a minute, I didn't have to do anything.
*Nice and Small.  I'm at university and don't have lots of space, I have it just sitting on a shelf and it works great there.
*I like the whole, just change the ink you need, not all of them.
*Good design.

Cons:
*So the biggest drawback in my opinion is the picture quality.  The big ones all seemed to have lines going through them, on smaller images it wasn't as noticeable, but that was kind of a let down.
*Small screen.  It's OK for most things, but if you had to search for an image on a memory with more than a couple of images you'd have a hard time.
*Sorta slow.  I guess this one isn't such a big deal, but good to keep in mind I guess.

Conclusion:
It depends on your use case.  I'm at university and this does more than what I need. It's small and compact, and prints documents perfectly.  The little screen is what I don't like most, but it gets the job done.
