Equate Fibre Laxative Psyllium Husk

Equate Natural Source Fibre Laxative Psyllium Husk DO NOT USE IF UNDER CAP SEAL IS BROKEN OR MISSING. DIRECTION FOR USE: Take 2 hours before or after taking other medications. Effects observed 12-24 hours after first dose, and may take 2-3 days. Minimum daily dose may be increased, up to the maximum daily dose, until desired effect is obtained. ADULTS (AND CHILDREN 13 YEARS AND OLDER): Take 5 capsules up to maximum 3 times daily. Drink a full glass 250 mL (8 oz) of liquid with each dose (swallow 1 capsule at a time). Maintain adequate fluid intake. When taken to lower cholesterol: Use for a minimum of 8 weeks to see beneficial effects. ADULTS ONLY (ADULTS): Take 5 capsules 4 times daily with 250 mL (8 oz) of liquid (swallow 1 capsule at a time). Maintain adequate fluid intake. MEDICINAL INGREDIENT: Each capsule contains: 525 mg Plantago ovata (Psyllium husk). NON-MEDICINAL INGREDIENT: Gelatin. CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS: Consult a health care practitioner if: symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days; immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product; prior to use if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever (as these could be signs of other serious conditions). Contraindications: Do not use this product if you: have difficulty swallowing; have diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate; are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defecate following the use of another laxative product. Known adverse reactions: Stop use if hypersensitivity/allergy occurs. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating. Store below 30°C (86°F). Keep lid tightly closed to protect from humidity. *Helps lower mildly to moderately elevated cholesterol levels in adults when taken with a low fat diet.

Value For Money

I have issues with diverticulitis and in order not to have flare ups I take the Equate psyllium Capsules daily.  I have been using them for several years and am confident that it helps keep me regular. For me a capsule is an easier way to take psyllium than in a loose form.  Plus the Equate brand is less expensive than high,profile brands.

I did notice that I need to drink plenty of water when taking them, as they can cause bloating if I don't stay hydrated. But overall, they've been a reliable part of my daily routine, helping me maintain regularity and supporting my digestive health.

Works Great

Better than metamucil caps and less than half the price. Also no citric acid so doesn't cause acid reflux when taking before bed like others. Hopefully they continue to keep this product stocked

Good stuff

This is a good product but I do find I need to increase my water drinking for it to work properly.I bought because I heard it has a positive affect on high blood pressure in keeping it down

Fibre PSYLLIUM - KEEPS REGULARITY AND HELPS LOWER

Great product, gets the job done quickly so make sure you are close to a toilet! Makes me feel lighter and my stomach is flatter after a couple days of using!

Gets the job done

One of the cheaper options I was able to find for these pills. The bottle says you can take up to 5 pills, 4 times per day. That must be if it's pushing out your ears or something. I've taken 1 pill a day for nearly a week and it already seems to be helping me. I've no issues with the pill causing me any stomach discomfort or anything like that. But obviously, I'm taking the lowest daily dose, so I can't say how I'd react if I was taking more.

Good product for a good value.

I use fibre as a maintenance supplement and only take one per day to stay regular regardless of what my hectic mom schedule throws at me. Rarely do I need to take more than one as a laxative, and I feel good knowing that if I didn't get enough fibre that day, things my backup. Haven't had any stomach issues with it either
