These are the best ear plugs I've ever tried. They're easy to get in, and stay in place once properly positioned. I find, if they won't stay compressed long enough to get them in, that putting them in the fridge to soften up the foam works wonders. I've never had problems with them putting pressure on my ears, and they last a long time with proper care.

These caps are discreet skin color and very economical for 50 pairs. It is a shame that they are no longer available in stores.

Efficient and economical

I bought these ear plugs a year ago and loved them , first time I found ear plugs that didn't hurt my ears . They really were soft and comfortable. Run out and knew I had to buy them again , but wait it's not the same the package is the same but they are not as soft a little bigger and hurt my ears! I'm so disappointed. Please bring back the other ones much better .

I would give ZERO stars if I could, but if I want to leave a review (to advise you all against wasting your money), then I am FORCED to give at least 1 star (which the product doesn't even deserve!) -- so imho (where Walmart's reviews are concerned), for me, ONE STAR IS THE NEW ZERO ;)  

Anyway, I digress...

THE PROBLEM:  The directions for the product tells us to roll one between our thumb & fingers to make it thin, insert it into our ear, and put our finger over it until it swells back up to its normal (not squished) state.  HOWEVER...

...once they stopped being rolled, they expand immediately;  not slowly, where it takes a second or two to get back to normal size, but I mean *immediately* in the most literal sense, where the expansion process completes itself within a fraction of a second between releasing pressure on the thin roll -->> and --->> attempting to insert it into the ear, even if the attempt was made mere millimetres from the ear canal opening!!!

I tried time & time again (and again & again & again!) before I could successfully get one into my ear, but even that required working my fingers around it a number of times to slowly feed it into my ear canal, which, time all tolled, took about 20 minutes... for ONE ear!

I thought the second ear would be easier, being that it's on the side with my dominant hand, but by the 5th or 10th attempt, I gave up on the 2nd ear plug all together.

Its not like there's a learning curve (I've used a different company's neon orange coloured foam ear plugs a number of times before, which work great, but they are also much more expensive than these ear plugs), so imho, it's not that these simply have a learning curve, but these are not a well-made or designed product :/ 

Sorry to say, bcuz they feel soft, like they would probably feel comfortable to wear for 8 continuous hours, but tbh, I would happily give up a tiny smidgen of comfort & a bit of money to have something just a little more dense that actually does what I need it to do, which is to STAY COMPACTED until I can get the product into my ear!  

This product is a total failure in my books, and I would never buy them again (unless, of course, I needed something like this to solve a different type of problem, or for some sort of crafting project, then I bet they would be a fantastic product! LOL)!

Save yourself from wasting your hard-earned money, folks;  buy something that actually works!

THEY DON'T WORK / ARE HORRIBLE AS EAR PLUGS

These earplugs are very soft, which i wanted, but they don't stay squished long enough to get them in your ears.

Cant get in ears

I started buying this around 7 months ago when I was tired of waking up from my family, so I got some earmuffs ands these were the second ones I bought, after the first one didn't feel comfortable and was useless. I found these and thought “what the heck, I'll give it a try.”, and it was the best decision I've made in my life. 50 pairs of super soft but sound cancelling earplugs. I'm telling you, they aced this. if you wanted to, you could use one pair for weeks and there's 50 PAIRS of them. I've been using it since then until recently when I bought another pair. A few weeks ago I couldn't find them in Walmart anymore and now I think I know why. Either way I found one yesterday and was so relieved. I bought it, getting ready for another two months of comfortable and uninterrupted sleep, but when I put them on last night, it was a different story. I'm telling you, I'd feel more comfortable putting rocks in my ears. Like, this is such a disappointment. Went from the best to worst LITERALLY. Equate, these were so good, please bring them back. If you need more buys just promote it more. Please, these were so good and now they literally make my ears feel like it's going to explode and when I take them out, they sting like crazy. Very disappointed, in equate and I'll be sure to never buy these again, unless I ever develop a kink for pain.

This used to be so good and now they ruined it.

The old ear plugs were honestly the best. My go to every night. But for some reason they changed them. The first night I wore these I got woken up so many time during the night from the pain these ear plugs gave me. The next morning when I was removing them it literally felt like my ears were going to bleed from the pressure. I had red bumps in my ears from them being to big and pushing so hard against my ears. I will never purchase these again!

The model # of the Equate Ear Plugs I purchased previously: EQDM-844 R0916

The item I purchased previously is no longer available from Walmart. The ear plugs in this similar item are NOT the same as the previous purchase:
- harder
- slightly larger
- constructed of a different material

Walmart's site doesn't include the entire model number - only the portion which is the same as the earlier purchase.  But the final 5 characters of the model number are the discerning factor.

The bottles containing the ear plugs look similar at first glance but are in fact also different:
- R0916 is slightly taller
- R0916 blue label covers half the front
- R0819 blue label covers all the front
- R0916 blue label is darker than R0819's blue

Maybe Walmart ordered the wrong product from Equate when restocking last year's stock or Equate has replaced the older product with a newer product which has a different construction.

The ear plugs in the product on this page
- are too large for my ears
- when held in your hand to warm them up so they become more malleable to help insertion, they do not shrink in size
- instead, you have to roll them in your fingers to squish them smaller and QUICKLY attempt to insert them before they expand to their normal size
- as others have said in these reviews these plugs expand so much that they are too uncomfortable to use
