I have had an Excalibur dehydrator for several years now and I love it.   This recent purchase was for my daughter and son in law who are into preserving food (canning, freeze drying and dehydrating).   They have a dehydrator but it is smaller and has stacked trays. Although the dehydrator works, the Excalibur to me is more user friendly and convenient. My daughter was very happy with this gift 9-tray model with the glass doors.

Great unit!!

I got the 9 tray after reading reviews on reddit where people bought and broke multiple cheaper versions only to end up buying the 9 tray in the end. I skipped all the cheaper machines and got the 9 tray. So far I've made 3 batches of 7lb jerky strips. This machine is not techy but I like it. I feel like this machine will last a very long time. Easy to clean, maintain, and operate. Expensive yet worth it!

Great machine

I have dreamed about having an Excalibur dehydrator for years. I have had mine for a few weeks now. I find this dehydrator to be a Workhorse. I've heard from several other friends who also have one that they wouldn't have any other dehydrator but an Excalibur. Everything that I have dehydrated has turned out very well. I've learned a lot because I'm also drying almond nut mash. It took some experimenting. Overall I'm extremely pleased and highly recommend an Excalibur dehydrator.

An excellent investment!

I've used it once since my purchase, and i regret nothing.  Once thing im not sure about.  I had it shipped to Canada, and upon arrive the temp and timer knobs were both loose and temd to come loose and fall off very very easily.  unsure if this was a design desicion or issue with shipping?

The machine itself is amazing.  works exactly as advertised.  i dont regret the purchase at all.  would recommend it to anyone.

Great dehydrator.  Amazing. but...

Fantastic! Had a 5 tray but wanted to do a mega blast 💥 of persimmons and fruit this holiday season so borrowed a 9 tray fell in love with hers! Ordered one of my own! Like a convection oven, having the fan speeds the time by 60-75% of the time! Treat bags for kids, snacks etc on the run, healthy foods n and easy to use, wipe clean and store back in the original box. Great product, works well. Would only buy this brand!

Excalibur is #1!

Thought about getting the 5 tray style just because it is smaller but I'm so glad I opted for the 9 tray!  Performs great %26 easy to use.  For me, front dials would have worked better than  dials at the back just because it sits on the kitchen counter under our shelves so if I need to adjust the temperature or time I have to move it around so I can see the exact time %26 temp. Other than that,  love it, love it, love it!!

Wow! How awesome this unit is. There are 9 trays on it, so it makes it easier to do more at one time than some of your smaller ones. The wattage is higher, so less time in drying, and if I decide to move to another place that has 250 volts, then it is good there too. This unit is so good, and I want to share, buy one. It does an awesome job and you won't want to be without one. The warranty is great! 10 years. Not many small appliances offer that. So you are getting a dehydrator that will last for many years. I want to encourage you to buy one if you did not already. Happy dehydrating.

Great Unit

It has been running since we bought it! I love it and the entire family is enjoying healthy yummy treats, including the pets! This is a top notch unit that is built to last! It cleans up surprisingly easy! Nothing goes to waste in our house any longer, I fill the bottom tray with the peels and cores for the bunnies when doing fruits or veggies. The only problem is the kitchen smells so good while its running that my family can hardly wait! I love the simple three ingredient fruit leathers. So healthy! My husband is looking forward to making beef jerky this weekend! This is a wonderful investment, I wish I would have made years ago!

Best dehydrator I could imagine!

To add to my previous review -

1. The head space on the top tray is less than all the other trays. It should be the same. 

2. The location of the timer and temperature knobs on the top back of the unit is unfortunate. Also unfortunate is that I can't find a better place to put them. 

3. The color of the markings on the temperature and timer knobs is hard to see. It should be white for better contrast.
