The Firestone Destination M/T2 tire is designed for off-roading in mud, dirt and rocks. I have a set of MT's, they are loud, but work well, they also burn fuel. My truck was down to 12 MPG on highway with no roof top boxes. I bought a set of the MT2's based of comments from my customers, (yes I sell the product and after driving on these it will help me sell more!) My first drive on these was the worse thing you could run a mud tire on, fresh black top. I was expecting HUM all the way home, nope, just a mild hum, nothing rolling up the window could not get rid of. The next day I filled up and headed up to north Florida on vacation trip, took some side roads and cut through a favorite off road area, some mud, lots of sugar sand, and clay patches. I have been through this all before with the MT's and know how well they work, the MT2's did better, did not need 4wd in the sand, which I did with the MT's. On the first fill up on the trip I was surprised to be getting 16.5 mpg with roof box, usually I got 17 mpg with Revo 2 and roof box. I am impressed with the tires so far and happy to have purchased them.

Just got a set of MT2s last week. I have a 2012 Jeep Wrangler with 170,000 miles on it and previously had the MTs and put 80,000 miles on them. Downside was they were really loud and the ride left a lot to be desired. Then went with the all terrain and only got 50,000 miles out of those. Decided to give the MT2s a try after reading some of the reviews. They are much quieter than the MTs, can hardly tell the difference between them and the all terrains. Also, the ride is equal to the all terrains. It is too early to tell about durabity or how many miles I will get out of them but thumbs up to Firestone for making a good tire much better. Also, they look great on the Jeep.

Nice Improvement of MTs

I have a four-wheel-drive 1 ton Van. I take a lot of sharp turns, I'm an aggressive driver I do not worry with these tires. Freeway driving in the snow belt no worries! So far 10,000 miles I bought an aggressive tire not worried about how many miles (optimistic) I get out of the tire. But at this point I feel like I will buy them again (295/70-R17)

I have been shopping for asn aggresive tire for months. I couldnt bring myself to pay $400 a tire so i tried the MT2. The road hum is quite low, the tread is very deep the lugs on the tires are huge, i use the tires in the consdtructikn field and also plow with them. When theres snow on the road i havent had to use 4 wheel drive these things grip like crazy usually when i come to a stop my wheels spin like crazy not with these. If your in the market but dont want to spend a fortune i suggest you look at the MT2

Best bang for your buck

I work at a tire shop so i have the option in seeing the differences on tires. I have tried Toyo AT/2 and they were good but i managed to burn through them in 35,000kms. So i wasnt very impressed. For the price of these firestones it was hard to say no even if i didnt get good wear, but so far they are surprisingly quiet on the road and were very light to balance. And they look sweet since of the MT style. Will see how they do later on.

Ram with the MT/2

I put a set of these on my F250 Lifted 4x4 with the V10. I ran them off-road in the Arizona desert when gold prospecting and even did some rock trails near Sedona. They worked extremely well. I took the truck to Michigan with me and drove all winter. I drove into work many mornings before the plows. I had to laugh when others came into the office complaining about how slippery the roads were and what a bad time they had. I found the drive in not too bad and had no issues. Pretty close to dry road driving. These tires handled extremely well in the Michigan winter. Worked well in the highway drive to and from AZ/Mi.Can not say enough good them. Never had a tire that worked better in all the places I drove. Probably all I will run on my 4x4s from now on. Great Tire.

WOW! I read LOTS of reviews on various brands, before deciding to buy these Firestone Destination MT2s (285/70R17), but at first I thought I'd made a mistake. I work in residential construction and bought these tires so my diesel pickup wouldn't get stuck in the mud on jobsites and while moving a trailer around. However, I was greatly concerned about ON-ROAD performance, because this truck is my daily driver. Initially, it seemed they made the truck handle so poorly that I was going to have to take them back and swap for an AT tire, BUT I decided to change the air pressure first- HUGE DIFFERENCE! My truck had been handling "like a boat" on the trip home from the dealer, because the tech inflated the tires to max pressure (when I was NOT loaded heavily). At first, I was very disappointed; however, I read about proper inflation for mud-terrain tires- inflating to maximize the ground-contact patch along the width of the tire (Thank God for the internet!), so I reduced the (unloaded) air pressure to 60 lbs front and 45-50 lbs rear, per the vehicle manufacturer's guidelines for unloaded-inflation, examining the ground-contact profile concurrently, and the tires were no longer only touching in the middle of the contact patch (like a bike tire), but all across the tire's width. They were contacting the road properly, and the on-road handling improved to nearly that of my prior AT tires-VERY GOOD! There is a slight whine/whirr noise in the background that isn't even loud enough to be annoying; Noise doesn't become annoying until a bit louder roar develops at above 77mph, but even then, I find it acceptable and can still hear the radio fine or talk on the phone. Wet road traction seems to be about the same as my prior Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires. They balanced much better than my Cooper AT3 tires, so I don't have the annoying shaking at higher speeds like I did before- nice and smooth, all the way to 90mph (during my brief higher-speed test run). I haven't been in the mud yet, but I'm sure they will handle that chore as well as can be expected for such a heavy diesel pickup. Thus, I learned that PROPER INFLATION IS MUCH MORE IMPORTANT WITH A MUD-TERRAIN TIRE, so I plan to keep them inflated for the load I'm carrying, and I hope to enjoy these tires for many, many miles- without getting stuck on any more muddy jobsites. :)

Considerably quieter than the first generation Destination MT , a lot better wet and snow traction as well , got 70000 out of the first destination mt hoping I can get 70000 out of these

Best all around mud tire in my opinion

I have these on my 07 Wrangler 2 door and they are awesome. I used to run the original Firestone MTs on my last truck and they were great. But these blow them out of the water. Not loud for an aggressive tire and when rotated every oil change after 20k mms they still look brand new. Awesome off road performance and in deep snow. I definitely recommend these tires and when I need to replace them (eventually) I will get them again.

Firestone Destination MT2s

This is the 2nd set of destination tires I bought for my truck. The first set was the A/T new with the truck. They last 18000 miles. The next set was M/T2. They are at 13000 miles and all 4 tires are bald. I will not buy another set of tires though firestone again. You should get more then 20000 miles out of any tire you buy. They do not have mileage warrant on this tires. Sad they will not replace them. $2800 in tires and they did nothing about it. No big deal I will never let one of my family or friends buy this tires. By far the worst tires I have ever had.
