I have bought these tires in the past for cars and now I'm using them on my Jeep. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs to get around safely during the winter months. These tires stick to the road like glue! They have a really good lifetime, all depends on how you drive and what type of terrain and of course you're vehicle's proper wheel alignment.

After driving on the 1st gen Winterforce tires I am less impressed with the Gen 2 Winterforce tires. I think the redesigned tread went a step back and removed all the reasons the 1st gen was great. I live on a long sloped street that sometimes does not get plowed before I leave for work and I have never slid on the 1st gens. I slid twice on these new tires as well as lost traction on our roundabouts that sometimes get packed snow covered. I used to trade out winter tires for summer tires and got 8 (yes, that is eight) winters on my 1st gens. With still having 3/32" tread the STILL had better traction than my BFG KO1 summers (worst I have ever driven on in snow). Clearly a reason why the T/A KOs lost their snowflake designation in case anyone was wondering. I will still run these Gen2 Winterforce this season as well and maybe they will make a believer out of me but had there been Gen1 available last winter in my truck size I would have def gone that route. BTW, I work at a dealership and all our employees that drive trucks run Gen1. Not sure what they will do this winter as some sizes have disappeared. I hope FS decides to revert back as I truly believe they made a design error.

A step backwards

2005 Jeep Wrangler I am very disappointed in these Winterforce II. This pass weekend I tried to go up into My back yard which is not plowed. The snow depth was range of 12" to 18". I could not go very far with out spinning out. I could only go a foot or less at a time. I put on my old Firestone Town and Country snow tires which I have mounted up on rims. These tires have a tread depth of 1 or 2/ 32, very low thread depth. These tires were able to go through the deep snow for distance of two to three jeep lengths at a time. The Winterforce II could not go through on the level ground, where the Firestone Town and Country went through the level ground and climbed about a 10% incline besides. So it is not the jeep trying to go through the deep snow, it is type of snow tire on the jeep. The Winterforce II are good on plowed roads or sloppy roads conditions. Also these Winterforce II tires are Studded. I am very disappointed in these tires to use off road for there is no deep snow traction! I wish you would come back out with the Firestone Town and Country snow tires!

Poor traction over a foot of snow

Traction is not as good as old version. Tire is quieter and will likely last longer but these benefits reduced traction. Brand new set has a hard time getting up hill in front of my house that's a 5degree slope maybe.. Tread is closer together and packs with snow easily. I would recommend this tire for places with light snow fall. I will buy a different snow tire next time. I have bought 5 full sets of winterforce tires In last 10 years and didn't think I would ever buy a different set........

Not as good as old winterforce tires

Firestone is not a tire that I would buy again. I purchased 3 sets of Winterforce2 tires and had one set studded for our FWD car. Turns out after only 2,000 miles the tires are junk and Firestone refuses to do anything for us. They claim that adding studs to the "studdable" tire voids the warranty because it is considered modifying the tire. I seriously refuse to ever purchase another set of Firestone tires. Take my bad experience as a warning to buy a different brand. Firestone customer service is rude and unwilling to let the customer talk.
