Ratings & Reviews+

Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Puppy's Smart Stages Train - French Edition is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 249.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful toy, gets the stages right! Excellent toy, my son LOVES this thing. The train moves forward slowly when the smoke stack is pressed, with a different delay based upon the stage the train is set at. It moves steadily, strongly, and is geared well enough that small obstacles can be overcome. As someone who is technically minded, the speed and overall movement were actually very impressive. The toy holds my son's attention more than most, and he has lots of options to play with. He really loves it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun for babies-preschoolers! This is the first toy my six month old has really liked! She loves the combination of music, lights, and moveable parts. Her three & five year old brothers love it too! It's so adorable when they "teach" her about songs, shapes, colors or letters by choosing the different content stages. My kids all love watching the doggy conductor drive across the room. :-) Although her brothers get mad when she grabs the train while it's moving, the train doesn't pinch my infant's fingers & keeps going when she lets go. I like that you can also turn a switch to make it stationary so my six month old can press all buttons or smokestack without it moving away...although, I think this might be the toy that makes her crawl! This toy is tough--my three year old plays really rough with toys & this one keeps on going. Our "puppy train" keeps my three entertained for a while everyday--so glad we have it! Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bittersweet I liked the commercial for he product, however it doesn't sing all of the alphabet, it doesn't count past 6, and it stops "rolling." I would think I paid for something to help teach my son how to count and recite the alphabet without it stopping in the middle of the song.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from stopped working within days We purchased this train at our local Target. It worked perfectly for a couple days, but now when pressing the smokestack the wheels start to turn for a second, then stop. My grandson loved to watch it roll across the wood floors after pressing the smokestack but it no longer cruises on it's own. We love most of our fisher price toys, but this one was very disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just like the commercial I will admit that I was irritated with the train when I first opened the package because it didn't finish any songs and the train stopped going quickly after it started. I came to this website to read the reviews and see if I got a faulty toy or if it's a bunch of them. One response FisherPrice gave was to turn the toy of and then back on to get out of try me mode. It worked!!!! My son enjoys the songs and the movement but other than that he doesn't want to be bothered. He will be 1 in two weeks so his attention is hard to capture still, but I'm sure within a few weeks he will get the hang of it. Great toy. Very Pleased

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Doesn't roll, no fix I've had 2 of these trains now that have had the same problem. The train works fine for the first week or so, and then it just doesn't move forward anymore. It's as if it's permanently stuck in their "demo mode." I've tried the instructions of replacing the batteries, didn't fix. Turning the train off and on again to get it out of "demo mode." Didn't fix. Seems like a widespread problem with these trains. I hope there is a new version of it soon that fixes this problem since my son loves to play with it. But the sad face he makes when he can't get it to go makes me want to throw it out the window.
