I have been using this product for a number of years. I had to have cancer treatment a year ago and my daughter made me dinners as I was usually to tired to cook. She put casseroles into these expandable bags, made to fit the casserole size and they kept perfectly. I had some of her dinners in the freezer for a while and they still were fresh as when newly packaged. We even made an extra long bag and packed our silver plate flatware  in it. kept it til the following year for our special family Christmas eve dinner. It didn't need polishing each year....

These bags are handy when you want to bag something big at one end tapering to slender at the other. (Think whole roaster chickens.)

Great for meats of complex shapes

I've only used it once and that was to accommodate a casserole dish. There is no way I would have been able to do this with the regular size bags. It worked perfectly for the casserole dish!

Expandables

Great product.  Expandable bags came in very handy.  Thumbs up.

Okay so here's the deal, if you follow the directions perfectly and flash freeze your bird for 1 hour prior to bagging, give yourself an extra 5 inches, and double seal, these bags will hold and seal a whole turkey or chicken every time without a problem. Some reviews say these won't seal or it's hard but if you show just a small amount of patience you will get the hang of it. I did over 50 home raised chickens in 2 days with these bags and each one turned out perfect. I would highly recommend these to anyone sealing whole birds. BTW my chickens dressed out at over 8lbs so they were pretty big and I still had room.

Since I got my Food Saver Vacuum Sealer and bags, I have been going through a lot of bags, and these bags are the greatest! I have never had a problem with them, ever. I highly recommend this system and bags to anyone who wants to keep their food fresh.

Love these bags!

This expandable bags are perfect for marinating my rack of ribs. I always used aluminum foil to store my dry rub ribs in the fridge and it was such a mess with bones poking holes in the foil. Now I pop my dry rubbed ribs into an expandable bags and viola. No mess in the fridge overnight.

Excellent concept

when i use the foodsaver products the food i put in there will last 10 times longer then the same foods placed in, say a ziplock bag. and the less you open the bag the linger the item will last. it really is the way to go if yiu like to bulk shop and then portion those products out and freese them for later use.

I use these to wrap large casseroles, but they are very difficult to seal.  It is hard to get the bag flat and straight into the sealer. It's difficult to get all the air out and have the bag seal well.

Expandable bags

I have used these on several occasions. I find that because the thickness of the bags is much thicker on the sides where the expandable part is, it does not seal completely all the time. I will never buy these again.
