Bought this a while ago and love it. Very easy to hook it up. Especially like that it's a combo and can watch either a video or dvd without having to disconnect one or the other from the tv.

Great VHS and DVD player!!

I purchased this item for the VCR. My son has a number of VHS tapes but his player died. He also has a number of DVDs so this unit fills his viewing needs
I was very disappointed that there was no coax cable input as that is all our cable TV digital box contains. I have to purchase a separate converter so he can continue to tape his TV shows. Also, some of his existing tapes play OK but one stops and the unit turns itself off and ejects the tape. Not sure if this is good or bad

Adequate for my son's needs - almost!

Review of Fanai - Funai Combo

Recently bought and installed the Funai combo DVD/VHS player and was surprised to find out it also plays CDs, making the set even more valuable for us.

Surprise feature

Does what I want it to..replay VHS tapes without eating the tape (which my old machine did and why I replaced it) and play DVDs. I do not use it to record TV to VHS as the old (2008) Bell converter requires a cable input and the new Funai is only set up for
RCA connectors.

As advertised

I EXPECTED THIS PRODUCT TO BE ABLE TO RECORD DVD'S ....I ALSO WANTED TO BE ABLE TO RECORD DIRECTLY FROM VHS TAPE TO DVD.. I EXPECTED TO HAVE THE PLAYER CONNECT TO MY TV WITH A HDMI CABLE... THIS FONAI UNIT HAD NONE OF THESE FEATURES , AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED...
