I want a good solid knife that I can deploy rapidly single-handed. This is a good knife. I have better, but those are $150 to $200 items. For its price, this knife is just fine. I oiled the mechanism with Break-Free CLP, and after practicing one-handed deployment a little bit over several days, it seems to be getting smooth and reliable. It takes a bit getting used to because it starts out kind of stiff on deployment. But it gets good. The Rubber grip is really nice once you get used to it. I see no up-and-down play in the blade, and minimal side-to-side play. I haven't done much cutting with it, but initially it is razor sharp. I got this as a substitute for my "good" knife that I can take places where I might end up loosing it. It will be totally up to that, and in time I may come to appreciate it more than I do now. No complaints about this one. For the price, you can't go wrong.

The screws on this knife are apparently mechanically engineered and machine tightened. You can't unscrew them to remove the pocket clip, for example. You would break normal star bits trying to do so. So it is what it is, F.Y.I.

sharp edges

this knife carries two good names - Gerber, and Bear - the knife is super sharp, maintains its edge even after serious use, I used it to trim some saplings and its as sharp as the day i opened the package, its a slim design so its comfortable even in a front pocket. Its not made for fast opening so don't look for that. What would make this a better knife, would be 2-3 more inches in blade and handle length. Even still, as is, it a great all around utility knife, I would certainly recommend it

A great utility knife

This EDC works for me

It's a great pocket knife. A little smaller than I like but a great deal on a reliable sharp knife. Blade is a little tight but hope it will get smoother with use!

Excellent knife very sturdy blade I also on the folding sheets knife which is a little bit bigger buck knives are outstanding please be careful when ordering this now they do have the same knife without the serrated portion of blade

Scouting knife.

It is a great knife I love it it is very high quality just what I ordered problem is it took to long to get here I have ordered from amazon it takes 2 to 3 days but this took over a week will have to rethink next order

Great knife I love it

Knife was smaller than I anticipated and was going to return it but Circuit City return policy was difficult, so decided to keep it. My other knives were stolen from my car so was looking for replacement of 2, this knife is sturdy, quick and overall pretty good, but more for boy scouts etc. I guess, which isn't bad but I'm a big guy and I like big things. This I'll keep in the car for emergencies but have since bought the Tops/Bucks CSAR-T responder! Now that is a mans knife but we are not here to talk about that.

For anyone who wants a small to medium knife that can handle any cutting, light digging, light batoning and good shredding, this would be the knife for you.

Good little Knife

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Its all in the picture/celebrity name, not up to true Gerber quality compared to my other Gerber daily carry. Im a strong believer you get what you pay for, but I got a cheaper pair, 2 that is for less and they are substantially better in weight, feel and quality of blade. Gerber took a left turn on this one. I had zero issues with with the seller. Solid transaction with them and Walmart. I returned it same day it showed up.
