Ratings & Reviews+

Gold's Gym XRS 20 Olympic Workout Bench is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 843.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bench, worth every penny. I bought this bench when it was 174.50, it seems to fluctuate quite a bit in price so if you're struggling to find it for that under 200 dollar range, just keep an eye out on walmart and amazon, it will go down, I've followed this product for some time. Assembly: Putting it together was a bit time consuming but I did it in a night, taking my time, and there were no problems for the most part. One thing to look out for, when putting together the squat rack, there's four screws and one bolt for each arm when connecting them to the base, screw each screw a little bit until all are tight along with the bolt, do not tighten one screw all the way down and then go to the next as it will shift the holes and some screws will not go in, hope that makes sense. Overall a very smooth process, and the directions were so clear and easy to follow, easier than legos, lol. My only problem was that I was missing two washers, unless I put them on a bolt that didn't need them, not an issue though, they're cheap and for the area I needed them were not necessary from my observation (just the weight holders). Bench and rack: No complaints, the thing is solid as a rock and is going to last. I am so glad I bought this thing, and I am sure anyone interested will be as well. As said in other reviews, for shorter people, the bench might be problematic as your feet might not touch the ground, but as others have said, you can simply put your feet on feet of the bench, which is an easy fix and definitely not a deal breaker by any means. Everything feels solid and I have no concerns about the bench, it's very well made. Bang for buck: Depending on what you buy it for, will determine how good of a value. On one hand, if you bought it for 174 like some of us, it's practically a steal. It's hard to find even racks for less than 200 bucks, let alone both that and a nice bench. If you had to pay 250ish it's still a great deal although if you can wait, wait, because as I said in the beginning the price fluctuates. This bench has been out for over 5 years and the price started out at around 135ish. Yes it has gone up, but if you do some research you can see that the price does indeed fluctuate in this way for a month to a week at a time so just be patient and keep your eyes peeled on amazon and Walmart, and you will find one for the right price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product for at home use when I bought the bench, I was looking for Olympic size with good quality that can handle hundreds of pounds if I'm lifting heavy. as I started building a home gym, the idea of a power rack or a cage was my first thought, but I had height constraints in the space I was using. the golds gym bench will take up only about 20 square feet of space and when I put it together, it was solid and heavy duty! assembly of the unit took about 1-2 hours and you'll want a socket set to make things easier on yourself. once it's all together and tightened up, you're ready to add weight. Olympic weights are the REAL expensive part of a home gym so be prepared! the shipping cost was very reasonable....I paid ten dollars for the ground shipping and the item was 125 pounds, so walmart must have discounted the shipping for me. overall, I would recommend this product and buy again if I had to! it's definitely going to save money from ever having to buy a gym membership again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME i have read so many reviews and its kinda scary to see what is good and what is not. i have 310 pounds on weights on the bar and its still is holding strong. i bench about 250 and weigh about 280 and the bench itself is holding up very well. Buy it and you wont regret it i promise.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bench for the price! Bench took about an hour to assemble. There are alot of parts but it goes together pretty quickly. Great for my at home workouts. I lift very heavy and this bench has held up great so far. People had wondered how much weight it would hold in other posts. I weigh 285 and have had 405 lbs on it so far and it has been solid. My one complaint would be the seat part of the bench stays flat. So, when I am doing anything on an incline I have to hold myself there with my feet. I've done alot of research and this is by far the best bench for the money. One other con.....Bench was shipped FedEx ground and driver just kind of pushed it out of the back of the truck and left it laying in front of my garage. Weighs 125 lbs, I guess it was too heavy for the driver?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best deal in fitness - PERIOD. I did a lot of research on F.I.D. benches before I bought this one and there is NOTHING on the market stronger or more versatile than this bench within 1000 dollars - I kid you not. Bench rated for 500 lbs, squat rack rated for 300, plus leg developer/arm curl attachment. There was a lot of thought put into this product. Safety catches for when you are benching alone. You can do any workout imaginable, day after day: Squats, bench press, shoulder press, leg extension, ham curl. This bad boy will take anything you can throw at it, then ask you disappointingly 'Is that all you got?'. I look forward to years of use. Very happy with the purchase. Especially considering the price. It was a steal. Similar quality benches -without squat racks- cost at least twice as much. You could buy this bench, throw the squat rack in the garbage, and you would still find you have a bargain that could not be beat. Seriously this is the best non-commercial grade Oly bench set on the market, and compares favorably to the entry-level commercial equipment as well. Things you should know: Takes a few hours to assemble, and you better use a ratchet/socket set or it will take all day. Also, I found the foam rollers underneath the knees uncomfortable, so I just tossed them. Lastly, the decline position is pretty mild - it may or may not be steep enough for you. Nonetheless, Highly highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Bench This bench is perfect. The fact that is has a separate bench from the bar is great. You can do your squats next to the bar simply by moving away the bench. Definite advantage over one piece benches. Overall quality is very high. Putting it together was very easy with clear instructions and well laid out parts. Highly recommended.
