Ratings & Reviews+

Gold's Gym XRS 20 Olympic Workout Bench is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 875.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bench, worth every penny. I bought this bench when it was 174.50, it seems to fluctuate quite a bit in price so if you're struggling to find it for that under 200 dollar range, just keep an eye out on walmart and amazon, it will go down, I've followed this product for some time. Assembly: Putting it together was a bit time consuming but I did it in a night, taking my time, and there were no problems for the most part. One thing to look out for, when putting together the squat rack, there's four screws and one bolt for each arm when connecting them to the base, screw each screw a little bit until all are tight along with the bolt, do not tighten one screw all the way down and then go to the next as it will shift the holes and some screws will not go in, hope that makes sense. Overall a very smooth process, and the directions were so clear and easy to follow, easier than legos, lol. My only problem was that I was missing two washers, unless I put them on a bolt that didn't need them, not an issue though, they're cheap and for the area I needed them were not necessary from my observation (just the weight holders). Bench and rack: No complaints, the thing is solid as a rock and is going to last. I am so glad I bought this thing, and I am sure anyone interested will be as well. As said in other reviews, for shorter people, the bench might be problematic as your feet might not touch the ground, but as others have said, you can simply put your feet on feet of the bench, which is an easy fix and definitely not a deal breaker by any means. Everything feels solid and I have no concerns about the bench, it's very well made. Bang for buck: Depending on what you buy it for, will determine how good of a value. On one hand, if you bought it for 174 like some of us, it's practically a steal. It's hard to find even racks for less than 200 bucks, let alone both that and a nice bench. If you had to pay 250ish it's still a great deal although if you can wait, wait, because as I said in the beginning the price fluctuates. This bench has been out for over 5 years and the price started out at around 135ish. Yes it has gone up, but if you do some research you can see that the price does indeed fluctuate in this way for a month to a week at a time so just be patient and keep your eyes peeled on amazon and Walmart, and you will find one for the right price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great product for at home use when I bought the bench, I was looking for Olympic size with good quality that can handle hundreds of pounds if I'm lifting heavy. as I started building a home gym, the idea of a power rack or a cage was my first thought, but I had height constraints in the space I was using. the golds gym bench will take up only about 20 square feet of space and when I put it together, it was solid and heavy duty! assembly of the unit took about 1-2 hours and you'll want a socket set to make things easier on yourself. once it's all together and tightened up, you're ready to add weight. Olympic weights are the REAL expensive part of a home gym so be prepared! the shipping cost was very reasonable....I paid ten dollars for the ground shipping and the item was 125 pounds, so walmart must have discounted the shipping for me. overall, I would recommend this product and buy again if I had to! it's definitely going to save money from ever having to buy a gym membership again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from AWSOME i have read so many reviews and its kinda scary to see what is good and what is not. i have 310 pounds on weights on the bar and its still is holding strong. i bench about 250 and weigh about 280 and the bench itself is holding up very well. Buy it and you wont regret it i promise.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Part Missing From Box. No response to phone call I recently bought this gym. But the 'grease packet' was missing from the box, without which the equipment can't be assembled. I tried to call the customer service number, but there was no answer after several long waits. The web address given to report problems doesn't seem to exist either. So am sitting with floor full of parts that can't be assembled!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly Calibrated! Looks like a solid bench but the one I ordered is defective in the sense that once assembled the bench and bracket housing for the leg lift/preacher curl section don't align. I thought momentarily that I could always just sit on the bench and turn myself slightly to the right when doing those exercises but that's ridiculous!!! Additionally it's shaky and not sitting flush with a level floor. As such, it's going back!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warranty is 90 days Everyone has just about said it all. I like it. Leg press is an issue, though. Be aware that to register it for warranty, you have to upload an image of your receipt. Following that, you are told that you have only a 90 day warranty for parts and labor. Of course, you are offered an extended warranty at an additional charge. But not even a year warranty on their product. (I would not recommend to a friend due to the leg press issues and the limited warranty. The bench is a fine value if you purchase it at a really good price (like I did) AND you are not a really serious weight lifter (like me).
